I agree with comments about age and affordability.
I would also suggest that with the odd rare sad exception diving is becoming a safer sport, so the statistics sometimes come up showing that the "unpreventable" deaths (old age, obesity, disease) are more common.
ah *lightbulb* pings!
you wore a wettie in Sipadan? (just come back there myself - great isnt it? didnt see a hammerhead, but did see bumphead parrot fish & manta rays & barrucudas!)
anyway, was it your wettie or someone elses?
how was it washed?
did you wash it after every dive, or just...
nope - that's not faffing
faffing is trying to decide whether or not you should check out the links but in the meantime perhaps whilst you think about it you could go and post on another forum but whilst doing that you forget what you were thinking about doing or posting on SB.....
hmmm....pronouncing it depends on your accent.
in English (as in UK English) it is a short "a"... not "ah" or "aarrr" or "aaayyy" but "a" as in the "a" you say when you say the "a"lph"a"bet.
does that makes sense?!
anyway as to the meaning of the word....
I did a google to see if...
your best bet is to make sure he is a diving qualified doctor. the most important thing is equalise the pressure in your ear canal.
my husband is also deaf - and also doesnt have an inner ear in his left ear (are you twins?!) and he can dive just fine. because it is all one open system (just...
Derek,
of course I'm not sure. I'm not a doctor doing the post-mortem. I wasn't saying he had indigestion, I was trying to say that the early signs of a major heart attack are often ignored, denied and put down to something else. The neck seal issue is more likely to cause a person to lose...
This sounds like a serious problem. However, if the diver did clutch his chest or heart at depth (and 110' is deep) it sounds to me more like the problem was either his heart, and/or his lungs directly rather than indirectly. Having seen deaths offshore (too many), it sounds like a cliche when...
what did you wear in the tropics?
a rash suit? skin suit?
I used to, but now feel the cold more and wear a 3mm wetsuit even in the tropics.
I wonder..... could you wear one under a wet-suit?
You wouldnt be "dry" but you would at least be warm, and minimising contact with neoprene?
erm - you're gonna send me back to the manual for my computer - because I know with my Uwatec I can "plan" dives as well. I wonder - and I will check - if I can get a comment for the planned no-fly time? hmmm....will get back to you on that.
I've gotta agree with Kimber - the (non Italian) women I've met who dive are way more enthusiastic than the blokes. In fact you cant shut them/us up!
But.... they/we do tend not to worry about appearances and are generally more outgoing types than the 'majority'.
Asian women do a lot of...
awap - I hope you are just being disingenious because - come on - that is not how you use a computer to define no-fly time.
you know what time your flight is. say 1pm. allow 1 hour safety margin in the miraculous hope they take off early. ok.
so your flight time is 12 noon.
that means...
folks - thanks - some interesting stories and experiences.
it is quite scary that it is so hard to define.
I understand the denial - it would be really hard to call personally.
I wonder if this is a training issue? Is there any way the basic training can emphasise that it can happen in...
