Question...kinda urgent (not a medical issue)

I'm planning on a dive tomorrow to arounf 70 ft on air. Possibly 2 dives. Assuming i stay withiin NDLs, how stringent are the time to fly rules (the 24 hour thing)? I've seen times using deco software (assuming that profile with deep stops) of as low as 7.5 hours. I have to fly out sunday...

    Nitrox Certification

If you are uncomfortable using nitrox (or doing any kind of diving) without instructor supervision, then by all means, take one that gives you supervision. Just for many of us, thats not really a factor (although coursework is a good excuse to get some more diving in ;) )

Do i Have To Wait For C-Card

Don't drive to far. I have been carded. If there was no reason to card you , you wouldn't have a card (and temporarys would be useless). I was turned away from vortex spring during a dive that never happened because my temp card had expired a month prior. You can try, but being carded...

Do i Have To Wait For C-Card

Well...you learn something new everyday :) Do they sell Co2 paintball markers? (I thought i saw one, but paintball isn't my specialty so i may have been confused)

    Nitrox Certification

What is different in the actual dive phase between nitrox and air? During the course, its made readily apparent that you should 1> know the MOD of the mix you're diving 2>Know what p02 that's calculated for and 3>stay above the MOD. If you can't do that, you really ought not be diving to...

    Nitrox Certification

The SSI course also runs 100 (plus 35 for materiels) and requires no dives. (Although, supposedly, I have 2 free fills waiting for me (card's not in yet)

    Nitrox Certification?

If you dive on AIR tables while using nitrox (assuming you still consider PO2) there is a safety margin. I don't have my tables with me right now but if you dive to 80 ft on EAN36 and stay within the AIR NDL (30 mins.) there is quite a safety margin there. The behavior of SOME divers isn't a...

Do i Have To Wait For C-Card

You think paintball folks care whether oil or co is in the air they use?

Do i Have To Wait For C-Card

If you go into a dive shop (where you aren't well known) and get your tanks filled without having your c card checked, I'd be REAL cautious about breathing that air. You want to breath air at depth that is used for paintball (which is what you're referring to, i'd assume)? You can PURCHASE...

    computer programs

I saw one of those at a dive shop recently. Have you used it? (the one i saw was in a package. looked like a kids calculator to me... wondered what it was doing in a dive shop ;) )

When do you use a Divemaster (11/9/03)

The problem is that that whole subthread should've been iced. Oh boo hoo my team lost....your's sucks blah blah. Perhaps these two children misread ScubaBoard for SuperBowl.

    computer programs

What you are asking for might lead you into trouble. If you don't know how to use the tables, these programs won't know the difference. If you put in a dive to 90 ft for 30 minutes (breaks the NDL) followed by a SIT of 30 minutes and then a dive to 80 ft for an hour the program will not...

Z-planner looks alot like V-Planner but it uses the earlier Buhlman B and C algorithyms. ZPlan (the engine behind the GUE can be used in dos mode (easier for some applications) I don't know what to think about its time to fly. I had a 70ft dive planned up to the NDL with deep stops and it...

    Nitrox Certification?

For later down the road, its an intro to diving mixes other than air. Oxygen Toxicity is introduced as well as concepts like PO2, MOD, and others. Its the intro nitrox cert. If you ever decide to go on to non rec diving, most accelerated decompression is done on some form of nitrox or o2...

    Do pool dives count?

Would you log a drift dive in a river of 10ft max depth?

Down to 60' and back up?

If it happens after a second dive, check your NDL. If you can't go back down and remain within the NDL, don't do it. If you can, don't decend and more importantly ascend slowly. Do a safety stop or 2. And keep the ascent rate under 30 ft/ min.

You pulling short Pyle stops? ;)

fight with girlfriend over dive safety.....

Not sure about all certifying agencies, but apparently in some the max depth for AOW instruction is 100. The max reccomended depth for all recreational scuba is 130.
