There was a post on this very subject.(it may have been here) A guy who'd been diving for years did the same thing in front of a group of newbie divers. On the next dive the water was so badly chummed by these poor creatures, you could barely see. Just imagine what this does to the ecosystem...

The tech guys and gals (some of them, anyway) swear by scubapro jets (NOT THE TWINS) because they're good for low silt propulsion kicks (mod frog, etc). I have a set of aqualung rockets (a knock off, some would say) . I'm rather happy with them.

I can kinda understand why she's upset. SHE did the planning...SHE dove the dive, SHE got the training and now YOU want to come in at the end of the dive from 1000 miles away and critique. "Wow 100 feet..thats deep and i know padi yada yada....i'm concerned..." That comes across to me as...

saltwater has a drying effect. Good for acne and poison ivy...bad for those with dry skin. Try to moisturize often between dives. Oh and take up guitar....the callouses on the fingertips that result will get you used to fingertips peeling ;)

My guess would be its a deco bottle. Probably o2 or a high o2 mix for accelerated deco

Yeah...now that i think of it, i haven't seen too many...."Hey guys ...should i do this" in there :) For the most part, i'd agree. As i said, its a choice. And its one you should make with a full knowledge of the risks.

And unfortunantly thats what happens. I'm not trying to rationalize soloing. Just trying to point out that people who would turn pale at the thought of *BUM BUM BUUUUUUMMMMMMM* solo diving... are completly fine with hopping in the water with someone they met 10 minutes ago on their one dive...

Depth is a factor. But people have drowned in bathtubs. One's capacity to deal with underwater emergencies is the biggest factor in a solo determination, followed by the individual's willingness to figure out the risks and accept the ones they can't mitigate

Underwater cave is a misnomer. From what i understand they were in a dry cave with a sump. Tried to swim to another dry chamber....just wonder what went wrong.....
