    GUE Expedition to Atlantis

Does diving places that don't exist make you a stroke? Or shouldn't it? Diving for a place that someone made up to tell an allegory is like 1000x lamer than having a snorkel. :-)

    GUE Expedition to Atlantis

Not content with exploring places that exist, GUE divers are now diving into the power of imagination and past century cults. Divers seeking Atlantis in Bahamas - Sports - MiamiHerald.com Well, this is the humor forum, and that isn't a joke, but I find it funny. Translation: these new...

    Avatar Movie And Sea Life

James Cameron (the director) is sort of an underwater exploration and filmography buff. He has been using Imax 3D cameras underwater for a long time now.

    Aqualung Changing with the Times

Well, Atomic has had a proxy buy system for a while. You buy the mask and their middleman routes the sale through a store somewhere so they still get the sale. The AL merchant system seems to be different in that it tries to route your purchase to a local shop. I am not sure what business...

    Diving with the Bull sharks

LOL. The safest procedures involve feeding? And in the pic, the guy feeding isn't even wearing a chain. That's delusional marketing.

Grand Cayman dive boat breaks loose from mooring

Moorings break. It happens. Its happened to me on GCM before. One of the DMs ditched their gear and swam after the boat. Not a big dot deal. In fact, if the dive Roombaguy was talking about was back in late September, it was probably the same dive I was on. Everyone was cool, zero drama.

    Scuba police

From the blog: That is a terrible analogy. When you fly home from a skiing city (like steamboat springs), there are 3-4 people on crutches. Divers should be so lucky that a torn ligament or broken leg was the norm and not the hyperbaric chamber or death. I don't disagree with the spirit of...

Staying Healthy When Diving: How to avoid colds/flu brought on by diving

Breathing compressed air does not cause you to contract Rhino virus (cold) or Influenza. Did a doctor ever run a test and return a positive result for influenza, or is that just a guess on your part?

I Believe! is PADI's New Theme

Belief is what you need when you don't have evidence for things. When there is ample evidence for things, you simply "accept" them (or don't, because reality doesn't need your acceptance). Belief is what the guy tilting back a cup of kool-aid at Jonestown had.

The straw that broke the divers back.

Its simple logic: Bad cardiovascular fitness increases your chance of a dive fatality. Obesity is an easy way to identify divers who are out of shape. There are chain smokers who live into their 90's. And there are obese people in good cardiovascular shape. So despite your existence...

    Climate Change

That is true. That is why they classify the impact of human industry on climate as AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming) instead of simply GW (Global Warming). Despite certain politicians denying it, and certain politicians showing pictures of hurricane katrina and saying "LOOK WHAT MANKIND HAS...

    How was DEMA 2009 ?

Print media is on the general on a decline. That's the trend. I think its not necessarily related to the stagnation of certain dive industry business models.
