Garibaldi and friends are no longer with us

I didn't mind it but it did seem kind of odd being labeled as a marine organism. I was wondering if there would be a mullet, salp or tubeworm.

New world record for under-ice swimming

"Although the risks of ice-water swimming are numerous, this extreme sport is quite popular in Russia. Adherents insist that it improves the circulation and immune system and circulation. It even combats depression, they say." I'll just stay in the jacuzzi.

You guys ever see this photo ?

In the Gulf of Mexico, surfing and on dive boats, I've seen porpoises do amazing things including jumps just like that. I'd have no problem believing the dolphin behavior is real, the only doubt might be that someone actually caught the photo at the right moment.

Oxygen compatible air and O2 Clean myth

Divers focus on oxygen clean and oxygen compatible but there is a third element for a piece of equipment to be ready for 'oxygen service.' There is 'oxygen design.' Does the equipment handle the gas gently with slow acting valves and no extreme bends or sudden diameter changes in the gas path?

Polish diver dead on ORP 'Delfin' shipwreck in the Baltic Sea, 21st of August 2020

There was a time when it was an actual technique called 'progressive penetration.' You penetrate a wreck little by little without reels and learn your way around the interior. They have a different name for that technique now.

We can't blame the love boat people on this one

Back when I was a goofy surfer kid, I got my 69 Galaxy 500 stuck in the sand way down the beach from Port Aransas, Texas. ( I think I was around 19 years old.) I was off in the boonies looking for a magical sandbar break with my surfboard. If you know what a 69 Galaxy 500 was like, you know...

Shark Attack Mitigation Systems (SAMS) Wetsuits?

The only time a shark ever messed with me was while surfing. I was prone on my board so he couldn't even see my suit. He went for my leash and came back to strike at the bottom of my board. He was an aggressive youngster probably a little over two feet long. This was a joke I did from a DEMA...

    Uncorking a wine bottle....

lol... When I made the video I was all about the wine bottle and forgot to give any thought to the glass. It would have looked more upscale to use stemware. As a Chianti, it might have been more accurate to use one of these but a 'rocks' glass was the closest I had. It's really cool to...

    Uncorking a wine bottle....

Yes! Particularly more tannic red wines should breathe a little. Letting it breathe makes a difference that you can taste in a blind taste test.

Yet another ingenious UW breathing device

At least previous vaporware rebreather scams like the Hydroid and the Triton Gill had some some faked pictures of it underwater. These Dmask people aren't even trying. There's only one artsy picture with the ocean in the background.

Why do Dive Centers and Professionals do it to themselves?

^This^ Dive stores are a business and training agencies are a vendor. It's like any other business -vendor relationship, like the landlord, like the product manufacturers. The business has choices in the way it manages its vendors. Believe me, I've been to plenty of stores where the regional...
