With my REVO breather its Predator on left, and Revo dream on right, so as I wear a backup computer, its on my right wrist.
But I was taught right from start to wear main on left, backup on right
Always Blue Lagoon found it ok for a third world country
8 days isnt long enough, once I stayed 14 days and then went and dived Palau, wished I had stayed at Truk longer
There are 38 diveable wrecks, 27 at or deck at least at 40m or less.
I have dived 26 of them to date
Been there in Feb...
ZHL16-C +GF, 40/75 on Multi Deco
If I use ZHL16-C +GF, 100/100 its 11 minutes on Multideco
Also SSI tables quote 5 min at 39m
Depends on the tables and the risk you chose to take
Truk is the mecca for wrecks. If you love wrecks Truk wrecks kill Coron. Been to both places and Coron doesnt have as many great wrecks and as accessible
I have been to Truk 5 times and going again in July. Its the mecca for wrecks. Solomon wrecks are as good but not as many diveable wrecks all in the same area. Coron wrecks are average to good in comparison to Truk which are overall much better and more of. If you loved Coron you will be over...
NDL at 40m is 5 minutes. How long were you at 40m. And then if you stayed at say 30m for any length of time say 2-3 minutes you were probably in deco.
I virtually never dive with a single air source now. On virtually every dive I either have twins, single and sling, rebreather and bail out...
I have used Dettol to wash my wetsuit and boots, kills the bacteria and kills the dead body smell from the boots. Hasnt seemed to have had any adverse effect on the wetsuit or boots.
Diver Fatality at Blairgowrie Pier in Victoria
On 3AW 10am news. A diver discovered a male diver's body under Blairgowrie Pier at around 6:30 am this morning. No suspicious circumstances, but the police will be preparing a report for the coroner.
Been to Truk 5 times and had no real issues with Blue Lagoon. Going again in July and will use them again. They have always given us good service and taken us anywhere we wanted to go.
Food is somewhat average but it is a third world country after all. Place has always been clean. Who cares if...
Its not so much that different sets have different datums, rather that most sets can have their datum changed to a number of different map datums. The most common I think now is WGS84, however in australia, historically many maps were based on AUS66 which means the coordinates taken from one map...
One important factor many forget to attach with positions is the datum the sounder is set to. I use WGS84. The difference between positions with different datums can be hundreds of metres. My Garmin map shows map positions for wrecks shown as a circle (clearly from an existing map) unfortunately...
I have 2 garmin sounders and use those for locating wrecks. One is set to chart (GPS Map 952) and the other set for side scan/down scan or Traditional with zoom (Echomap chirp 95/ GT52). I use the 952 on chart as its touch screen and so easy to manipulate, the 95 is better as a fixed sounder...
Pity you dont live in Melbourne Australia as I am always looking for divers for my boat or on charters. Most people only have the weekend off thus hard to find mid week divers.
Its a common symptom where divers need a heap of weight to get down and then find they are heavy at depth. Often the main cause is being very nervous, and thus breath holding or shallow breathing, especially at the start of the dive, hence the need for additional weight to get down. Once down...
