    Drysuit heating controller options

~ “Miranda heating batteries solved this problem they are built from 4S packs, and the controller constantly measures the voltage on the pack and changes the frequency so that the output is always the same as set by the diver, voltage in the range of 0V to 12V“

    Petrel 3 Failure

Except that the Nerd2 is poorly engineered and fails between yearly and biannually as a result of either the attachment of the depth sensor to the case or the connector itself. If they fixed said issues and added an in unit vibration, it very well might achieve great. Signed, Been there, sold...

    Heart Rate Monitor

Not sure why the personal certs are relevant. I doubt you'll find one, as they're largely worthless and not providing useful data whilst in water. Wahoo manufacturers one with a built in memory if you're inclined to try it inside of a drysuit.

Where to buy [US]? Apeks 'high profile' drysuit exhaust valve flapper

Unless it has changed, Apeks US distributor does not disseminate parts kits for dump valves. As such, there is little choice but to order from Europe or otherwise.

AP inspiration 2L steel faber rebreather tank threads?

Guessing it’s an M25. Ignoring that it’s a euro valve, I would guess they won’t fill them for you because they’re not DOT stamped. If you travel to Europe, I’d bring them there and try to sell at some point. If not, find someone with a home fill station.

    JJ vs KISS Spirit

If those are your only two considerations, JJ hands down. They are not comparable units in terms robustness nor flexibility. The only advantage of the spirit is the ability to shove the whole thing into a 30L backpack.

    Katana 2 tanks uneven

The “all in” fix everything at once answers: -Ditch the dive rite stage rigging. Is inappropriate for sidemount. Jubilee band, short paracord, boltsnap on the bottom. Top you can leave a paracord leash if you need to jump off of a boat and then unclip this leash once underwater. (15-25%)...

    Katana 2 tanks uneven

Can you post an image of your bottles, the rigging on the bottles, how you’re routing the bungee, and ideally an underwater picture? Are you clipping to sliding rings or the clinically massive stock square drop Ds? Which bottles?

    lp 108 steel sidemount tanks.

They’re…kind of large for what most people are doing. Also tend to be floaty when near empty. If you have them and you’re not a small human, great. Otherwise, an LP85/HP100 probably better if you don’t need the gas.

    Sidemount upside down help!

“Hey guys, my instructor that hasn’t taken a class in twenty years has encouraged me to try something that is not only not recommended by the manufacturer, but is disconnected from all other current modalities of modern sidemount.” Don’t get me wrong; he’s great around a fire and he’s done a...
