    sidemounting steel bottles

For those that haven't used them, 7L 300B are about as negative full as a PST LP104 of nitrox. I'm guessing some combination of the following: Bungees not thick enough for this application Valves don't have a manifold post (or the bungee isn't being wrapped around it properly) @Scuba fryd is...

Burst disc in valve, how to eliminate?

Let’s skip this silly part given the user and his post history and acknowledge the density of homebrewers and gear modifiers is decent in the US and significantly higher in Europe. There are unfortunately types of bottles only available or imported in some regions. Perhaps this has solved Agro’s...

    Weezle Extreme Plus Undersuit

Is warm. Is good value. Don't store it compressed and make sure your suit fits such that the undersuit can loft. Your comfort with its warmth will vary a lot depending on duration and activity level. If you carry lots of adipose tissue, you'll likely be super warm. If you're rail thin, this is...

    Affordable heated gloves and socks?

The vest that you picked will determine comparability. If it’s in suit, you’re likely SOL. You can try to cheap into a set of gloves and socks via places like SmartTex or DIY, but you’re not getting around a suit through port, the physical gloves and socks themselves, and a 10Ah or larger...

    Advice for Cave DPV instruction

Kind of wish there were more “current school” competent cave DPV instructors in Florida. Alas, public sites where they are divable are largely Ginnie, LR, Manatee and then the Millpond in Marianna. Your first days of Cave DPV will be in open water regardless. I’d skip to the cave course unless...

Question Choptima Rebreather Users and Trimming

Your neck likely won’t appreciate this very much. Obviously a slew of possible outcomes, but what harness is it such that you can add lead there (if that ends up being the optimal solution)?

Fathom Gemini WOB on partially used scrubber

Yes. And also yes, you have a lot of troubleshooting worth doing before trying to modify the unit via TecMe. I would guess that removing the scrim from your exhale scrubber will drastically change your perception of how much water there is in the unit.

Fathom Gemini WOB on partially used scrubber

Hazard a guess, but I bet if you only use one on the top of the scrubber you're inhaling from, most of your problem goes away. This isn't to rule out the guesses of the other posters, but more than one of those scrims is excessive. Was this what was taught in your course? Also, your Gemini does...

How many dust filters are you using, if any?

Lessons My sidemount cylinder valve spun itself completely shut during a dive

Color me dubious, especially after reading your other post. Have full roll offs happened in experienced SM cave divers in a cave? Sure. In open water or large pseudo overheads? Unlikely.

Would you trust capped Petrel3 fisher OC?

Wasn’t aware anyone was still buying new Fischer computers given availability of better options. I would avoid it if possible. In a pinch, make sure you floor the compartment with some mineral oil and maybe even tape the cap down.

Half-packing sorb -- Possible, or deadly?

The Meg and the Fathom (and the SG and iirc the whole HH series) all support or supported different scrubber sizes in the same can with different spacers. Use the wrong spacer, you die. The end.

    Cold hands

https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/bottoms-of-feet-cold-drysuit-39f-3-9c-water.605892/post-9312794 Would encourage a read of this. Minor changes I’ve made: one size up of gloves with two sets of wool liners, a Brynje mesh baselayer, even looser wrist seals, silly amounts of high fat food...

    What is this used for?

Self contained underwater drinking apparatus. Best used for consumption of a dark and stormy under some atmospheres of pressure. I am only partially kidding. Some years later, Apollo also introduced another such frivolous device: Bio-Filter Scuba Air Moisturizer — Apollo USA Scuba
