I'm not worried about the stamina tests. I'm actually not worried about any portion of it. Well, I do hate the fact I'm going through a shop that doesn't sell bp/w gear. They've said I can wear mine but "prefer" I wear what the students wear.
Finally got around to taking the DM exam. Now it's on to the 1st pool session weds. Thought there was going to be more math on the exam. On paper it seems REALLY physically demanding but when I see some of the recent divers to become DM, guess it's not much concern. :cool2:
Bummer!! The whole rig is a great set up but changed my mind on the tech route. Plus, got another hobby to pay for now. From the looks of things, I might still have them next time you're around. Have fun in Germany....I did!!
Only a few dives on a rental wing? Halcyon uses yellow for rental units. However, exactly the same as it's retail counterpart as far as I know and not a bad price for what you're including...practically giving away the plate. Wish I had gotten the 30 rather than a 40. GLWS
Selling some tech gear:
XS Scuba (worthington I believe) LP 108 doubles, OMS isolation manifold DIN and DR bands. Original hydro was May '08 and VIP good until December. $450 local only
Agir Bakke wing with 56 lbs of lift in EXCELLENT condition. $200 (incl CONUS shipping) Local buyers can...
I think the idea of geocaching underwater is absurd. Most are going to leave plastic containers. Maybe not much of an issue in a lake but in the ocean, mother nature has a way of moving things even when you think they're well secured. When that happens, you've just contributed to the massive...

I went shortly after they really started to enforce the rules (14th I think). The guy taking the tickets asked if I had weights in my bag. I said yes and he told me to remove them before boarding. I went down the ramp and right up on the boat. The guys guiding everyone aboard simply told me...
Excellent point!!
As for online retailer vs store, perhaps they consider where the bulk of that company's sales come from. For scuba.com, it's online sales. For sport chalet, it's in store. Therefore, sport chalet will more than likely price match similar businesses. Just like online...
Thiad makes a great point. If an item isn't in stock at the other place, odds are they wouldn't match it anyway. However, I still see it as conflicting since Scuba.com does have a store and Sport Chalet seems to not recognize that. This manager might say it's corporate policy but it doesn't...
Just to keep it balanced let's point out a couple things:
First, you said the manager may or may not be a diver. That means you don't know. We can just as easily assume she is NOT a diver and was merely winging it while justifying her decision.
Second, because this ONE manager made that...
Well, I won't be in a hurry to go over there again. Unfortunately, sometimes my work schedule only allows for diving on days that don't have any boats running. It's not often boats run. Those days I usually just do casino point. We'll see. I'll avoid it as much as possible until this changes.
