    UV Filters underwater

UV filters are no longer recommended for those who shoot above water digital photography. UV filters are still used to protect lenses from damage and contamination, as are plain glass filters. There is the argument that any filter mounted on a lens will degrade the image quality, usually because...

    UV Filters underwater

Most, if not all, digital cameras filter UV at the sensor. A UV filter on the lens is not needed.

Permanent solution to fogging on the Scuba Masks involving Nanotechnology

With enough thought and effort you can make most any mask fog free. Things that you can't change are fit, comfort, volume, FOV, color, and overall quality.

Mares Puck 4 runs Buhlmann with GF

Is Mares still big in the rental market? Perhaps this explains Mares in limiting the new Puck to conservative ranges.

    Advice on Scubapro regs: Mk25 EVO/D420 vs MK19 EVO/ D420

And then there's always the Atomic Aquatics Z2. A fine regulator set at a good price.

    Advice on Scubapro regs: Mk25 EVO/D420 vs MK19 EVO/ D420

I would be more concerned with the d420 than either of the first stages mentioned. Make sure your local dive shop has experience servicing the d420. It's a lot different than what they normally working on.

Question Is a Mk25 overkill for recreational tropical water dives?

The points you made in your post #39 are almost identical to those I made in #25. I didn’t say all regulators are the same. I said they all successfully fulfill the same simple function. My initial comment was there are better and there are worse. I will be happyto let you have the last words...

    How to restore a Scubapro D300, D350 & D400: Theory and Practice

I work on all my regulators except the D400. When it comes time for servicing my D400 off it goes to @rsingler for his special treatment. He has parts and is meticulous in his work. If you have an active D series regulator or one that has been gathering dust for years I would urge anyone to take...

    Closed Octopus needed

Sometimes it can't be helped, but price should not be at the top of your priorities for an octopus. That said, the Cressi XS is a popular, low priced second that is simple and reliable. It is serviceable but nothing you'll be bragging about. It is a hard breather.

    Used Regulator Purchase (Help)

The second stage looks like a unbalanced r190? If so, and the first stage is a mk2, I personally would stay away. An unbalanced first and second stage together will breathe harder as tank pressure goes down. A lot of people dive this combo so it is not critical, just not ideal. It is cheap...

    The New Atomic TFX

Atomic's website lists both DIN and Yoke TFX out of stock, but a number of US retailers mention stock on hand. Perhaps titanium fabrication is a complication. I'd probably reach for my wallet for a $600. brass Atomic center balanced second.

    The New Atomic TFX

I went on a Google safari today to see who's talking about the TFX... and it seems no one is. The most recent mention of the TFX on the Atomic Facebook page was 12/7/2023. No new videos. No new reviews. No nothing. What's happening?

    Question Argonaut Kraken Owner

The breathing dynamics of the double hose reg change continuously underwater as the vertical relationship between the lungs and can change. One moment it will be breathing hard and the next you'll be blowing bubbles through your ears. Nature of the beast.
