    Buying new smartwatch/divecomputer

Garmin makes good watch style dive computers. The only thing I don't like is their use of proprietary AI transmitters. But many people find this not to be an issue.

    Garmin vs shearwater

When I bought the Descent Mk1 I was doubtful about the functionality and reliability of a reworked sports watch. But it has held up for years, the battery life is better than good, depth dependent parameters still match my Perdix exactly, and it's never missed a beat. It has by far exceeded my...

    Diving watches

I have one of these Seiko 6105 watches that I bought in 1973 for my NAUI OW certification on St Croix, USVI. It's somewhere in the house, but I'd have to take the place apart to find it. Anyways, here's a video of a guy doing a rebuild on a 6105. Fascinating!

Never. I use a traditional safe second. That's why I said "seems". What's your take on air sharing and controlled ascent w/ ss1?

XS Scuba Clear-Path buckle on sale (and mini review)

The last time I was in Roatan I was diving my double hose, hanging out in vertical trim towards the blue, lazily watching the other divers in my group poking along on the wall 50' away. All of a sudden a good sized baracuda flashed close by my right shoulder and stopped on a dime to give me the...

    Review Forcefin comfort is amazing!

And you can wiggle your toes! I will often have people tell me the straps on my FFs are loose and dangling. The FF's are so efficient in forward propulsion that they will creep up on your foot as they push you along.
