I don't really think this is the right place to ask, but it goes along with the topic. What are the possibilities of blending nitrox by putting liquid oxygen in the tank and then topping it off with air?
It wouldn't be feasible or accurate, but I just want to know if it would work out ok...
Oh, and by the way, the US is a metric nation. There just isn't a fascist law on the books forcing businesses to sell their products according to the metric system.

Isn't the metric unit for Pressure the Pascal (1 n/m^2)?
By the way, you are all aware that it doesn't really matter which system you use, as long as you don't try to switch when you are really narced (I am only at 40 feet; I can go deeper.).

What he should have done was dive in an isotonic saline solution to prevent finger pruning. No one has answered the warhammer maneuver (sp?) question yet.

No joke...I actually knew an instructor who taught the PADI nitrox dives with EAN21. The diver checked the mix (and found it to be 21% :) ), they used the appropriate tables and went diving.
Pug, you've given me a renewed respect for GUE. Thanks.

btw, I don't think you need...
There isn't really a wall there, so must dives are very close to land and have mooring balls. There are many books on the area, but I don't know if they have coordinates.

I did a paper on it for calculus class, so I used some of baker's papers for the actual algorithm ( http://www.gap-software.com/decotheory.html ), but you probably won't want to get that technical. Other than that, the Navy manual and the NOAA manual are excellent sources. The USN manual is on...
I am not sure what you mean. All agencies have you do the same basic skills (OOA, CESA, doff, don, pivot, hover, etc.) and learn the same information, with very little vacilation. By the way, I don't consider DIRF an OW class.

Of the choices, the instructor is most definately the most important factor because all agencies have basically the same requirements. However, I think that students are not assigned enough responsibility for their abilities.
If you'll allow me to be blunt, some people are stupid (George...
I like to put on my BC in the water, but even though I am a DM operations still don't want me to do it (alas). I don't like to float on the surface, so what I do is put my bc in the water, jump in, and don on the descent. PADI doesn't really like that, so if I am with students I have to do it...
What do you mean no marine life? Here in NC there are always fish everywhere (the problem is they're usually barracuda and they're even uglier than my buddy). I like to get out my shiny knife and threaten them when they do that jaw thing. Probably not a good idea though (don't want to loose a...
Thank you all for you help and care, but my fish is dead. Funeral services will be held in the bathroom. Empieza el llanto por el pez sin nombre. I don't know what I could have done wrong. I change the water daily, use beta water conditioner, and don't overfeed. I knew he wasn't acting...
Thanks guys, I had no idea about the aquarium trade. The ironic part is I don't think my fish is doing so well right now. He never really moved much, but right now he keeps having seizures. I don't know man, I am getting attached to this guy.

I was home for fall break the other weekend, and my parents got me a fish for the dorm. Just a simple beta fighting fish (by the way any name suggestions taken :) ).
At the pet shop, I was pointing out all the fish they had that I had seen. I figure that it would be really cool to be able...
A large portion of my job this summer was sitting around and having fun in the caribbean. A smaller but more noticable part was filling about 60 tanks a day on the deck of a rocking sailboat and maintaining 3 bauer compressors.
If you are filling tanks just for yourself, it is not even close...
O-ring, what kind of personal problems can one have underwater? I don't see why your wife/gf/SO would choose to leave you in the middle of a dive. :)
(I hope that's funny)
