    Sydney over Christmas

As your time is at a premium then I would suggest Pro-Dive Manly. They have a boat and should be able to get you to a suitable dive site if the conditions are bad elsewhere. Sites to look out for along with North Bondi are Magic Point and Long Reef Apartments. They and Dive Centre were both well...

Trigger snap instead of bolt snap

The trigger acts as a lever, and so just a small force can open it up. I use one at the end of my spg to attach to a shoulder d-ring. I find you can easily fumble them open, whereas with a bolt-snap you have to bo a lot more accurate.

D1 Hybrid dry suit information requested

The D1 is a hybrid as it incorporates suit and undergarments in one.

Trigger snap instead of bolt snap

Trigger snaps certainly open more easily than bolt snaps and I certainly wouldn't use them on anything that wasn't attached elsewhere. If you're concerned about ease of use in gloves/cold then butterfly bolts should fit the bill.

Dive Op. Suggestions for Palm Cove

Divers Den in Cairns may do pick ups if you're on a course or going on one of their liveaboards, Taka or Ocean Quest. For day trips there will be a charge.

    How to swim with sharks...

It could have been a deterrent, keeping newcomers away from the lucrative sponge market.

    Shark farming

We can grow cartilage in the lab for medical reasons. Why not upscale to meet gastronomic requirements.

help: where to dive in whitsundays?

H2OSportz are based on Hamilton Island. I've not used them but have heard good things from friends and colleagues.

Advice on trip to Cairns in Jan 12

The road trip from Port Douglas to the Whitsundays is a long one but you should consider it. It will not limit your diving in the North, and you would be able to break the trip up with two dives on the SS Yongala, one of the most memorable dives on the GBR. Yongala Dive who are based just...

    Zuma Pro BCD

My shop got hold of one medium/large but there hasn't been much interest in it. UK prices and shipping probably won't make it appealing to you, but if you have money to burn and a need to have it then we can probably work something out.

    Jobs in Denmark

Hi all. I'm moving to Denmark in a couple of weeks and would ideally like to keep working in the dive industry, either as an instructor/guide or retail. I'll be applying for jobs directly but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here just in case anyone knows of a position available now or coming...

    Australian seeking internship

Two places in FNQ I can think of are Yongala Dive and Down Under Dive, in Ayr and Cairns respectively. Yongala dive is very remote but would offer a more rounded experience of the role and industry. However you would be expected to drive and if you aren't 25+ would be expected to pay a massive...

Bio dry FX 100 still wet inside

This drysuit has the new Tzip zipper iirc. When I saw one a few weeks back I was concerned about performance. Hopefully this is a one off that can be rectified.

BRAND NEW Oceanic Hera - must sell

How poor to have a zero return policy, they could at least have offered store credit.

    Similar fit to Pano Geo?

The Visio Tri-Ex is the modern day equivalent, side windows, large, bulky and high volume. One notable difference with the new mask is that it is a little more fiddly to pinch your nose than with the Pano-Geo. I bought the pano-geo as at the time of purchase it seemed to be the only mask that...

    Oceanic Pro Plus 2 question

It's a user changeable battery so the battery compartment is separate and sealed from the workings of the computer. Clean out the compartment and try a new battery to see if the unit still works. It's best to get a battery kit so you have a new and correct o-ring, and make sure all o-ring seats...

AquaLung Pro LT vs. Pro QD?

Well by coincidence the white tip knives turned up today. I also had a camera handy so am able to show the cross compatability. IMG_2087.jpg by mattoau, on Flickr IMG_2092.jpg by mattoau, on Flickr So if you wanted to use the Scubapro white tip knife on an aqualung bc then you could...

AquaLung Pro LT vs. Pro QD?

The Wenoka Squeeze fits a Scubapro BC so I don't see why a Mako knife wouldn't fit a Seaquest BC. I'll try next time they are in stock but they've been on back-order for some time now.

Best Jacket Style BC with Tech Options

I'm prepared for a flurry of responses, but does anyone actually mount and stow their knife in the same orientation as it is in that photo?

Want to buy an apeks set but completely lost in the options available.

I'm not sure which countries it is relevant to but I think Apeks may have a deal on the XTX200/50 at the moment. It is for working instructors only but if you know one you may be able to lubricate them with beer to buy one on your behalf. ;)
