I was in the same boat. I ended up getting an aeris xr-1. It is ( in my opinion) a good beginner computer. I have enjoyed and it, and it gives me some insight on what features I want on my next one. There are quite a few in the $250-$300 range. They go up from there.
Thanks Ken for your writing. As a parent of a young child, one my dreams is, to go diving with her someday. This I know, will be one of our future talks.
Just as jar546 said. I am looking to expand my specialty classes, and was looking at the deep water specialty course. The lds that I just hooked with said they like to include 4 for every course. 2 is what is required, 2 extra for supervised fun. The deep course will have the required 100' dives...
I have a casio g shock atomic/solar model. I agree to use it only as a backup, or to tell time under water. A buddy of mine is a SEAL, and he asked me, "do you want to trust your life to 4 small screws on a $70 watch?"
Makes you think.
Welcome to the board. I also dive lj shores. Took a year off, but have started back up. As soon as my daughter gets old enough (still a few more years) maybe she can starting joining me as well.
we're just a few days off. my in laws are coming to SoCal and wanted to see the island. while my wife is playing tour guide, I figured I would get some dive time. I will be available to dive all day on 8/14 (Thursday)
