    Garmin entering the dive industry?

I think it could be very useful in cave exploration - where drift should be not an issue. An IMU can log the path in 3D and then, after the dive, the log can be downloaded on a PC allowing to check the exploration progress and help to find connections. This other than visualize the path back to...

    Scubapro G2 or Perdix AI?

come on, a pressure transmitter is not rocket science... the only difference can be in the reliabilty of the transmitter and the pressure sensor accuracy, license fee is reasonable and could be compensated from larger market (my 2c)

    Shearwater Perdix AI

From the manual [Nitrox Recreational Mode Perdix]: Countdown begins once the depth becomes shallower than 20ft (6m). Countdown will continue while the depth remains in the range of 7ft to 23ft (2.4m to 7.0m). So going to 5m your countdown will start once you are a bit shallower than 6m ...

Perdix showing (wrong) depth on land

I put mine in the handbag cabine luggage. After a long flight, once landed, the computer shown me I was in gassing (after 8 hours offgassing), but no depth indication; he knew we were not in a dive. The ingassing was shown from the tissue page. I just though it was the expected behaviour. No...

PADI tech 50 no refill between dives

Right, so probably another 16'-17' bottom time ... it is just a bit longer than touch and go, breathing air it makes sense.

PADI tech 50 no refill between dives

although your math is correct, do not forget they are attending a course so, on the second dive, they MUST have gas reserve, whatever method they use to be safe. Rule of thirds, rock bottom or whatevere, I don't know if having "only" 1800 psi would allow that reserve.

People who bought a BP/W before trying one, were you happy with your decision?

Yes, definitely ! (I was absolutely sure that I would love it before buying the first one - second hand) And I bought one for my son (15 YO) and I gave it to him during our last dive vacation in september without any previous notice... After 2 minutes just to figure how to use the crotch strap...

    Slightly out of Trim

No difference from the STA viewpoint. provided the trank straps secure very well the tank. According with the shape of the STA you could find the tank to be not close enough to your back and, in case of heavy one some rolling, but it is much more dependent personal sensitivity and preference.
