Two missing on submerged Great Wall - China

Or in a more simple way: never clip your smb to your bcd (or anything attached to you for what it matters). Unless it's within 30cm of you, then you could...

Two missing on submerged Great Wall - China

Are we really gonna call it "zero to hero" when you take 8 years to do a 50m dive?

Hey hey hey. Stop that. Pigs are intelligent animals.

    NEW TS Sidemount system

To me, the "getting stuck" is a very theoretical issue... Much like torn out Stealth dumps (supposedly everyone here knows it happens all the time and is super-duper-dangerous, yet I know of only 2 cases, done by some of the most insane divers there are...). Looks quite sleek, do you know how...

    Z-system advantages

I don't see that as an advantage over a manifolded twinset though... I prefer having gas to breathe over having gas to inflate my wing.

    Z-system advantages

Ever considered what happens when a DIN o-ring blows? Or the reg giving up (which happens, not often, but happens)?

    Dry Suits

I don't like deep diving with multiple tanks with no redundancy in terms of buoyancy, that's all. I also don't like diving deep in a thick-ish wetsuit (anything > 5mm). And eventually, when dives start getting long, you can get cold in warm water.

Suunto Eon Steel Fused also for deep dives ... ??? Not so convinced !!

Sounds a lot like deep air to me, amiright?

    Dry Suits

Well, yeah, exactly, except some use drysuits up to 25°C water, if not more. And what if you were to dive with lots of gas, no buoyancy redundancy?

    Dry Suits

To be honest, I wouldn't know how much I use even now. I use ~15l/min as base, I typically do it "on the fly" as most of my dives are pretty straightforward dives with sometimes (very) heavy work, so I'll just watch the spg every 5 minutes and go from there (I'm pretty good at approximate maths...

    Dry Suits

Also depends on the duration, which people often don't mention. I'm starting to think there's a hidden universal dive-length that everybody (but me) knows, which I think is somewhere around the 40 minutes mark, and sometimes drops below 30 minutes when people start discussing how warm and toasty...

Broke even CCR vs OC fills costs!

    Gas sharing at deco stops

Sure, I agree with that. But on the other hand, how would we handle deco if we were diving on Mars? See why we're not answering the exact question? It's simply a matter of "it doesn't happen, we don't care". Had it been phrased "what happens if I breathe with a poor breathing pattern on the deco...

    Gas sharing at deco stops

I'd say either do twice the deco, with one half each on the deco tank (ie quite a fair bit safer than required by the algorithms), or do something like "150% of deco time on the stop, and half the time on backgas, half on deco gas" Why would one "buddy breathe" a deco reg?

    Demographics: Old and the young?

Interesting to see that there's "many" in 20-35 range, yet when I look at the local dive boats, or local facebook groups of people looking for buddies, I've hardly come across people that weren't twice my age. When I was in Australia, it was quite different though, and there were quite a bit...

SM regs: XTX50 vs Dive Rite vs ??

The XTX came in a sealed (blister) box, the DR came in "tested and ready to dive". Neither have freeflowed since I have them, but then again, I've only managed a freeflow once and it was almost on purpose. To me, a "sidemount" reg would do just fine on a pony. There's just a spare inflator...

Is it safe to dive such green water? Or did a 3rd arm grow already? :p:D

SM regs: XTX50 vs Dive Rite vs ??

Well no, the "even playing field" is how the average customer can use it, which is exactly what I did. Buy it, go dive. If the normal steps of use were "buy it, go have some other shop tune it (or do it yourself), then go diving", sure. But that's not how it goes, a reg is not something that has...
