Very location specific - I see you're in VA, where are you diving? I do most of my diving in North Carolina, and if you dive from the Wilmington/Carolina Beach areas the smaller boats are used to DPVs as the tooth divers all use them. Some of the larger operations in that area might not allow...

I was told their insurer will not allow solo diving under any circumstances. I'd assume depth limitations are insurance related too, but it's just assumption, I have never had to carry a policy of that type and deal with that.

I went down to Lake Phoenix a few weekends ago, water was still nice. I'm in Loudoun County VA so my trip would be about 20 minutes shorter or so than yours, it's a drive but it's diveable. I'm looking forward to Juturna opening as well based on how close it is.

Yeah, Juturna hasn’t opened yet, they’re still setting up the infrastructure from what I understand, but haven’t seen an update in a while. As far as I know they’re shooting for Spring 2022.

Oh I know it's common, I'm just glad mine wasn't that much and there are a decent amount of great suit options for less than that. Mine wasn't made in the US and I also think I got lucky with the conversion rate at the time.

A drysuit is an expensive thing to purchase, but that seems overboard. I can't imagine paying almost $4K for a suit that isn't made to measure. Shoot I can't imagine paying anywhere near $4K for a suit that IS made to measure. :oops:
