Any Updates on Scubajets or Lefeets from actual users

It's pretty cool to find a tooth from a living thing that died 12 million years ago and you're the first human to ever touch it. I need to actually slow down and focus on some other types of diving I enjoy. Apologies for derailing the OP's thread!

Any Updates on Scubajets or Lefeets from actual users

We find a lot of megalodon teeth and other fossils. Concentrated in several areas of the East Coast over here in the US. It's not for everyone, some don't enjoy it and some get hooked. I guess "tooth boats" sounds a little funny if you're not familiar with this type of diving - there are...

Any Updates on Scubajets or Lefeets from actual users

Do a lot of diving digging for teeth off North Carolina coast. We use DPVs to blow the sand/rubble and uncover teeth. The DPV of choice used to be the old Mako/Apollos but those are harder to come by. I personally use a Blacktip, but I have a friend who uses a LeFeet S1 and loves it. She has...

    First Drysuit

I have the Otter Atlantic HD. It is rugged for sure, heck of a nice suit and fits me well. Very satisfied with build quality/options/divability/etc. If I bought another suit today it would be an Otter (somewhat biased though as its the only suit I've owned, but haven't seen another suit that...

    BlackTip Batteries

I have a buddy who uses the 10 aH batteries as he got a set with a lawnmower he purchased. He has no complaints at all. You have to weight them differently than the 9 and 12 aH batteries. But they work just fine. They don’t use the system where the cap slides on and breaks them into 3 different...

    rock boot with velcro

Call/email Otter, they definitely include them as standard on their drysuits. I’d offer you mine brand new and unused from Otter but the size wouldn’t be right, they shipped them a size too big for me.

Seasickness meds for 8 year olds?

Sea-Bands - I have a family member who uses that brand.

    Hello from Charleston

Welcome to SB! You live on the coast of the carolinas, there's good diving all over the place for you to do locally as well! I did my first dives in Aruba and St Thomas, and since then with the exception of maybe 10 total florida dives and a few other random ones almost all of my dives have...

OMS Performance Wing - Force required to use the Pull Dump

Sounds good - best of luck on your certification. Set up your equipment as you see fit best, there is nothing functionally wrong with having a pull dump there, I just swapped for a rigid elbow so I would have one less valve to worry about cleaning/maintaining, especially as I wasn't using it.

OMS Performance Wing - Force required to use the Pull Dump

I have an OMS mono wing. The inflator pull dump does require a lot of force to open, so much so that I had the wing for over a year and never even knew that was a function until I noticed the lack of elbow (the valve was kind of tucked in that nylon loop and hidden, not sure if yours has same...

    Question Outer Banks diving?

Have fun, the shore dives are a great experience and a fun intro to diving if your son is a newer diver!

    Question Outer Banks diving?

I have dived with them quite a few times in years past and also have done certifications with them. I was lucky enough to do some of my AOW checkout dives on the U-85. That's a great dive I would encourage you to target if you end up going out with them.

    Diving off of Kure Beach?

I'll be there first week of July, not sure about rest of month. Boat dives would be with Aquatic Safaris or Carolina Beach Scuba depending on size of boat you like and proximity to where you're staying.

    Question Outer Banks diving?

That part of Outer banks (KDH/Kitty Hawk area specifically) there are several wrecks not far from shore. Look up the triangle wrecks. I believe one ship ran ashore and then decades later the second ship ran into the first... Fun dives, short swim from shore, lots of wildlife to view. Not...

    Question Outer Banks diving?

Up close to Duck the only shop around is Roanoke Island Dive Shop. They will get you to the U-85 if you're looking for boat dives, otherwise they can provide info on a few of the shore dives in area.

    Intro to Tech - Cost

OP, based on where you're located (I am in Leesburg) I would agree with this post. Submerged is a good shop and they can structure your technical training differently based on where you are/what you know already. You don't need a $300 class to learn to use a shearwater. I'm taking a wild...

    Which drysuit to choose?

Just browsing and caught my eye - I am in the US and have an Otter Atlantic HD, great suit that hasn't given me any issues. Not common to see them in the US, but I talked to a lot of folks about suits they liked and talked to several manufacturers and ended up settling on Otter. No complaints...
