    Shoehorn for Stout Scuba Sirens

I wear neoprene socks which keep my feet nice and warm, are extra cushion on rocks, and make my suit easier to don and doff.

I'm excited about the news (because you're excited). That's why I love the Comal drift dive, if you can glide along just above the bottom at 4-6', you know you're buoyancy is good - that's how I learned dry suit. I bet you really enjoy it. My wife and I did that back when it was called...

It only takes a few dives in Spring Lake to see it all, only 1 to see the whole Training Area. Where are you doing the classes?

Nasty. They're saying the boil water notice is to last until at least Sunday. I suspect with this week's rain flowing down to Travis in the next few days, it'll be at least a week before diving in Travis is viable. It looks like the class I have next weekend will be in Spring Lake - darn ;)

That's very true, but now there are septic systems underwater there. I have my public safety diver gear (dry suit and FFM), which I was planning on using, but I would want a hot shower right after for hair with a good ear flush.

I swung by WPP today and talked to Richard. This is what it looks like now. He has no electricity or running water, and his septic system is underwater. Also, the road to WPP is closed. With that, I don't think I'll be diving there this weekend. He said he's gotten his stuff above water...

Comment by 'George Monnat Jr' in media 'Shark Oman Dimaniyat'

@Peter Szekely I had never seen a shark when I saw my first Cobia. I was sooo excited until the DM explained to me. It's a nice picture.

Visibility at Comal River this Sunday

Also, you want to check the flow rate first, and you want about 300-500 cfs.

Visibility at Comal River this Sunday

My bet is no, especially downstream of Prince Solms where the big stream empties in a lot of mud.

    Thanks, some good pics/videos, too.

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

He was pulling everything he could out yesterday, including the port-a-johns up into the parking lot (wouldn't want to dive thru that). Hopefully he either gets everything important out or it doesn't flood enough to damage it. Yep, I want to do a quick dive over the park for novelty. I...

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

According to LCRA's historic data, the historic minimum was on August 14th, 1951 at 614.18 (66.82 feet below full), and the historic maximum was on December 25th, 1991 at 710.44 (29.44 feet above full). It's currently at 698.36 and still rising slowly with all four flood gates open. It's going...

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

I don't know the exact ruling for that or about diving on his flooded property without going into the lake proper. There'll be about 20' of water over his lot to dive around and see his stuff underwater. He has an F-4 (subscale) he's been meaning to submerge, so I could be the first to see it...

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

I just talked to Richard, the owner of Windy Point Park (best shore diving on Lake Travis). He said he's pulling his home and belongings up across the street. He won't have electricity for credit cards and the air station may be underwater, but he'll still take cash and let us do some historic...

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

Lake Travis, yesterday midnight to midnight, rose 24.93 feet or about a foot an hour to 16.85 feet above full with water being dumped from upstream lakes and more rain in the forecast. They may have to flood Lake Austin and Lady Bird/Town Lake to prevent excessive flooding in Travis. The...

Texas LCRA Lakes Temporarily Closed 10/15/18 Until Further Notice

Llano/Kingston bridge: Lake Travis went up over 20' yesterday and is currently more than 16' above full. It may endanger the office at Windy Point Park which would really suck.

I believe the camera they used for us last summer was HD. The picture I posted in the thread above was from the DVD video we bought.

Plus a large percentage (75%?) goes towards conservation charities, or at least that's what they told us. Edit: and you get a c-card and log sheet :)
