    dry gloves

They look like my old Diving Concepts rings but I can't tell from the picture. Didn't SiTech actually manufacture the rings?

    Atomic B2 Hose change

You can always just buy the swivel and mount it to the 7' hose. I'm not a fan of the swivel though. Just more stuff to give me problems.

    The BC from H#%*

That is exactly why I always suggest new divers try as many different types and styles of gear as possible before buying anything. At the shop where I work we let the students use different gear each week in the pool during training so at least they have some exposure before buying.

"Regulations" Got You Down? "Human Leather Gloves" are here!

Why is wearing glove so important? I can't stand wearing them in warm water.

    How do YOU do it?

Experience. I've seen way to many people rush to become an instructor without really taking the time to learn each step of the way. The best DM's are the ones that have taken the time to be good at each level. Spend time with the students and customers, get to know them as people. Learn to...

    $12/tank for VIP?

That's about what I would expect with an air fill and a vip. If it's for the VIP then it's too high. If it were AL tanks and they were doing an Eddy current test then maybe but since they are steel they should not charge you for that.

    diving in Portland and Seattle

Not much around the Portland area that would be suitable. The only thing that is even close would be Kline Line Lake in Vancouver or some place like that but the vis would suck.

    Dive boat first aid kits

I'd love to see a kit like that and the training to use it all. I was involved in a rescue attempt 2 weeks ago where an AED and the cardiac meds may have saved a life but we did not have access to them. We had a paramedic diving with us in our party but he could only do so much with what we had...

    Can't Find

Any medical supply house should have it. I have a bunch that I got when I had physical therapy on my shoulder.

    Need recommendation for Maui diving

I like Ed Robinson, Mike Severns and Extended Horizons. I always stay in Kehei so I usually dive with one of the operators that leave from the Kehei boat ramp. The back wall of Molokini is a great dive, Shark Condos is a really cool dive but it's deep so it's not for newer divers. Shore...

    Good gloves recommendation?

I like Harvey's Titanium Gloves. When the tips get worn I dip them in Tool Dip and get a few more dives out them.

Machismo and Scuba REALLY don't mix

Yup, I see those guys every where I go. I avoid them at all costs. Usually the bigger the mouth the more worthless they are underwater.

I just read something rather scary.

Does it say Full Open Water Certification? Or SCUBA Diver. They are two different things in the PADI system.

Diver Death Octopus Hole Hood Canal Washington

Does anyone know the name of the diver that passed away Sunday August 27th at Octopus Hole? I was involved in the rescue attempt but in the confusion I did not get his full name. He surfaced in distress with his buddy. One of our DM's and another diver towed the diver to the beach and got him...

    piston vs. diaphragm

I think what you should be asking are Balanced vs Unbalanced. Search through the Scubaboard Regulator Forum, there is a lot of very good information. Good Luck.

    Bought new regs today!

The Zeagle is a very good reg, you will get years of use out of it and it's a good one. Congrats! Nothing better than owning ALL of your own gear.

    Drysuit Lifespan

My last USIA Bi Lam suit lasted about 14 years, the body of the suit is still good but I decided I needed a new one. If you take care of them they will last years. I can't comment on crushed neoprene vs tri lam.

Help reg pros, can this one be saved?

No problem. I've serviced regs in MUCH worse shape. Take it in and get it rebuilt and it should give you years of trouble free service.
