I did hundereds of dives wet. Wet suits are fine for 2 or 3 dives a day but when I started divemastering and doing 4 and 5 dives a day I had to go dry.
I got stung last year in Maui by a box jelly. It was about 8 hours of burning pain and a red welt but it went away with no problems. I get stung by Lions Mane jellies here in the Northwest all summer and they don't bother me but that box jelly was no picinic.
Hmm. I've never had problems with UK lights but I do know that they are very good about the warranty on their products. I use 3 of them on a regular basis and haven't had a problem.
Those brands are all good. I still use my original Aeris computer from 10 years ago and I love it. The advice to spend more on the reg is good. That is the one piece that you will probably own and use the longest. I would also look into getting the reg serviced. Check to see if there is a...
If they sealed in the pool you should be ok. I find that latex seals leak most when I look up or try to look behind me not so much depth related. Even if it does leak it's not a big deal to replace it.
Good luck and welcome to the dry side. There is no going back.
Good luck. I hope you are able to put seals on it after using Armor All. That can be very bad. The glues used on the seals will not stick to a surface that has been treated or coat with any type of silicone. Trust me on that!
I don't let the spear go completly. I am close enough to the fish to hit it and still hang on to the spear. One tip for you, always swim to the fish, don't pull the fish to you once it's on the spear.
Genesis, Aeris, Oceanic computers are all made the same company and are very easy to use. I have had an Aeris for almost 10 years now and I love it. Easy to read and easy to scroll through the screens and dive information. They are also PC Downloadable.
Good luck.
If you are doing a shallow shore dive you should be ok but if you are going to Molokini I wouldn't do it. I know PADI has relaxed the time to fly rules but I still go by the 24 hour rule especially if I did a deep dive.
My advice is to get up early and do a morning dive at Uulua Beach or 5...
I had a friend try to unstick an inflator by spraying WD40 into it. It weakened the plastic housing so much that it exploded when he hooked it up to the inflator hose. Hard lesson learned. Nobody got hurt but he was done diving for the weekend. Petroleum products and dive gear don't play well...
I've done it. Get permission and do it on a weekday when the course is slow. Trust me, balls will be hit into the lake while you are in it. The water is disgusting. You would not believe the amount of chemicals that end up in a golf course water hazard. Not to mention duck and goose...
I've used them to secure mouthpieces, fix a busted mask strap and other things. Very handy to have. I always carry a few of a couple of different sizes.
If there is an odd number someone will most likely get buddied up with the DM.
You are always responsible for your dive. You should NEVER be at someones mercy. If you are not comfortable with your buddy's profile let them know and you don't have to follow someone beyond what is within your...
JimLap may be right. I have helped train divers for years. I have seen a lot of people with panic issues. Some of them you can work with and they can overcome it and some just can't no matter how hard they try. We always work with them one on one and the students can repeat the classes as many...
You will be fine. You will find the limits during the training. Be smart enough to recongnize them and dive within them. I'm a big guy, my doctor tells me every year to lose weight. I then explain to him how much time I spend diving, how much gear I strap to my back and haul up and down a...
