    Diving and prescription glasses?

I used a prescription mask for years and was really happy. I finally switched to contacts and I'm even happier. I hated taking my glasses off and fumbling around for my glasses after a dive or wearing my mask around topside. I used just a plain old Ocean Master Z2 Mask (the Sherwood Magnum II...

Specialty Diver mark reached now for AOW

Congrats. Yeah, I rarely use my snorkel. It sits in the bottom of my gear bag for months on end. I use it about once a year during surface intervals in Hawaii.

    Apeks Recall

It is related to the threads on the yoke screw. What I heard was that on some yoke screws the threads were cut twice.

Aqualung Legend ACD or Atomic B2?

You can't go wrong with either. I like the Atomic, I've had one for years. The second stage is very light and there is very little drag. I use mine in warm and cold water with no problems. I've never used a swivel on a second stage but I've never felt the need to try it either.

    What reg, what reg...

You can't go wrong with Apeks but Dive Rite used to sell kits for their regs online.

    Apeks Recall

It should only affect the most recently shipped XTX series regulators.

Where to Find Oceanic Delta3/4 Kits?

Good luck. Oceanic prohibits dealers from selling kits to the public. Most manufacturers do this. Dive Rite used to sell kits for their regs online but I don't know if they still do.

    Mask Strap Help

I use an Ocean Master mask with the Q-strap and I love it. It has a wide neoprene "slap strap" but all the mask adjustment and buckles are behind my head, not on the sides. I've had it for years and I'm trying to find another Ocean Master Z2 mask to replace the one I've got that is getting old...

    Good regulator

You can't go wrong with any of the major players in the regulator market, Scuba Pro, Aqua Lung/Apeks, Sherwood, Oceanic, Mares, Atomic. They all make a good product. My advice is choose a regulator that is balanced (a good shop person can explain this feature or you can look it up online)...

Is this package suitable for Ice Diving?

I dive in water in the low 50's and high 40's all the time. Freezing is not a worry for me nor anybody I know of around here. As far as damaging the reg, no it won't hurt it. From the Oceanic site: "Paired with our popular CDX-5 Compact Over-Balanced Diaphragm First Stage with Enviro...

It's official, I think UK lights suck!

I've had nothing but bad luck with Princeton Tech lights. Every one of them I've ever had has flooded. Granted they were good about replacing them but I stopped buying them because I had nothing but trouble. I'm sure if you asked enough people you could find someone that hates just about...

    Nitrox??? Really???

So you work for the same shop? My computer handles Nitrox, I've used it for Nitrox only during my Nitrox class years ago. I'd love to have another air only computer for a back up. I see no need to purchase a Nitrox compatible computer if you truly don't think you are going to need it. I...

    Drysuit Inflator Valve Lubrication

Is it a new valve or is it a used valve that is sticking? On a used valve I take them off and soak them in fresh water overnight then dry them off and reinstall them. This breaks down any salt and hopefully loosens up and silt and grit in them and flushes it way. Scott

    Need a bit of advice.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with Scuba Pro, Atomic, Aqua Lung and Oceanic. I have used all of them and they are very good. No opinion on Sherwood but I am not a fan of Tusa.

    Northern Diver Cortex

I used one for a few dives. Not a bad suit, I hated the boots, they were hard to put on. Other than that I thought it was a pretty good suit. Seemed well made.

Regulator maintenance - water in first stage

Get them serviced. If you did not discover it until you got home you need to have them cleaned and rebuilt.

It's official, I think UK lights suck!

Take it to a shop and have them return it. They deal directly with the rep. I've never had a problem. A lot of times the shop will give you one out of inventory and return yours to UK.

Best reg setup for the money in the Northwest?

I've been diving for years all over the PNW and I've never used or needed a sealed reg. The only time I needed one in my diving life was my ice diving class.
