    Where to buy seals online

Try OSSystems.com. They sell everything you need to do it yourself. Order the heavy duty seals, they last a lot longer.

    Hawaii trip

I'm leaving Maui Friday afternoon after 2 great weeks. I did 4 trips with Ed Robinsons and had a blast. I did just about every dive there is around Molokini, we saw Manta's, sharks and all kinds of cool critters. I also did Red Hill (one of my all time favorites), Marty's reef, 85' pinnacle...

Heart attack at Dutch Springs This Weekend

Yeah somehow heart attacks on golf courses don't go down as "golfing accident" but if you happen to be wearing scuba gear in the parking lot it's always reported as a diving accident.

    Cayman vs Bonaire

Grand Cayman would be my choice for a family that has non divers. It's a nice island with a lot of fun things to do topside.

    Question about dive logs

You can use whatever you like. I just use the standard PADI log book pages but only because that is what my shop carries. I always log; date, location/dive site, depth and bottom time and buddy information. I also add notes if something interesting happended or I saw an unsual critter. It's...

Dive Masters What Computers Do You Use?

Old Aeris 300G and a newer Aeris XR1. Love 'em both.

    What flows faster?

LP will drain a tank much faster than the HP port.

    Apollo bio tank lock

I don't own one but it appears to be one of the products that solves a problem that doesn't exist.

DM's--how much experience did you have?

I had about 200 dives prior to DM. I did it because I really loved the sport and was always diving with new divers anyway. I think what is important is feeling very comfortable with your own skills before you can begin think about be responsible for others. The specific DM knowlege will be...

    Mask?

The best mask is the one that fits your face. Fit is the single most important factor when buying a mask. Hopefully one in your price range fits your face. I really like the old low volume Tusa Liberator.

    Recommendations for Maui Molokini backwall?

When you say operators have had "incidents" what are you referring to? Unless the op did something to put a diver in harms way I don't hold an op responsible for a diver having an incident.

    Mask skirt is gummy

Start shopping for a new one. That is usually a sure sign that it's going to fail soon.

    Oceanic dust cap

I always store my regs with the dust cap on to prevent any moist air or other things getting inside.

Open-water-to-divemaster courses: how good are these?

I had over 200 dives before I started the DM training and at times I felt like it wasn't enough. There is a lot to being a good DM that only experience can provide. I don't agree with doing the bare minimum approach to training.

    Really Bad Regulators

I think you are safe buying a name brand regulator. I would not buy a regulator that has no name or known source. Oceanic, Mares, Sherwood, Scuba Pro, Atomic, Apeks, Aqualung are good. Some models are better than others but all of them produce good quality equipment. I wouldn't buy a...

    Recommendations for Maui Molokini backwall?

I've never seen illegal activities nor poor customer service with Ed Robinsons, I would like to hear what you have seen (pm is fine). I have always had a great time with them. I really appreciate the fact that they let us dive our own profile and don't over supervise the dives. I go with a...

    Recommendations for Maui Molokini backwall?

I book with Ed Robinsons every year. They leave out of Kihei. I also like Mike Severns a lot. Both tend to cater to more advanced divers. Extended Horizons from Lahaina is also good if you are on that side of the island.
