My only "issue" with the GUE cave courses is that I´d get 21 days in florida with my full cave instructor (who lives in the UK) for the price of cave 1 & 2(10 days of instruction)...I don´t see how the GUE-courses can be good value for money (not having taken them)...

Why? For technical dives I can see the point but for recreational ones? If the computer craps, you either continue the dive (I feel comfortable doing recreational one-tank dives without a computer using other information to stay safe), follow your buddy or abort the dive... If you want to...

I dive a single tank when my RB is too much work for the dive, I´m solo or when I´m with an insta-buddy... For everything else I dive my rebreather (with bail-out)...

I think the key for any new RB-diver (like myself) is to set firm limits, from the start, and stick to them... I´ve promised myself not to: -take chances on sorb -dive with a known fault -dive without going thru the check-list -dive without adequate bail-out -go "deep" until after 50hrs...

Coach steve: there´s a dir-atlanta group...I´m not saying you need to be dir to have good bouyancy (I´m not dir and never will be) but it´s a place to start...I think there´s a user on SB called dir-atlanta, pm him or google and I think you´ll find that there are quite a few people in your area...
