    Officially Cancelled!

Ouch. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that any trip outside the US this summer is probably :deadhorse:. State restrictions on travel are bad enough. Sympathies, maybe you can book something in Florida instead? Better than nothing.

    Preferred Snap Bolts?

Another vote for DGX. I have bought from Piranha and DGX, and the DGX are night and day easier to use. Lower spring pressure, mostly, but also smoother. I have not boarded the xdeep train yet, but I plan to try some out.

Never Really Used My Gear- Should it be Serviced?

You've got some good advice already, but here's 3 pieces of mine: 1) Get your regs serviced. It's been 4 years, they're normally supposed to be serviced every 2, and while they are probably fine you are going to have enough task loading just remembering how to dive and rebuilding muscle memory...

Diving in Hot Water, dive skin or rash guard?

I am a confirmed cold water Great Lakes diver. I am pleased as punch to dive wet in 30F's, the 40F's are balmy, 50F's call for a light wetsuit, and once the water hits the upper 60F's it's swimsuit weather. But this month my buddies have talked me into going to North Carolina. I have been told...

What is covered in a PADI drysuit diver course?

I also dive a neotek semi-dry, and do the exact same thing. It's crazy how much extra buoyancy you have before the suit fully saturates. However, a drysuit isn't going to absorb water like the semi-dry does. So approach your weighting accordingly, it's a whole different kettle of fish.

Din or Yoke first stage regulator for a pony bottle

DIN, with the provision that you pretty much always want a standardized tank farm for convenience. So in your case, also DIN.

    90lb wing?

It would make a decent heavy-duty lift bag I guess.

Quiz - Rescue Diver - Common Cause of Diver Emergencies

Poor judgement can be stretched to cover almost anything. It's an easy answer, but I suspect not particularly helpful. Of course, this is basic scuba.

Diving with just a Pony. 4-8 Metres.

Well do I know the excitement of scuba and the draw of a worthy cause to combine them... weighed against having hardly any money to spend on doing so. That kit is just going to be a waste of money for you, I am afraid, so follow the wise advice given by pretty much everyone else here. For the...

    Hello from Pa.

Visibility is very much a variable in the lake. Storms stir it up, the time of the year and movement of the thermocline, etc. I consider 15' a good average on a good day. Below the thermocline vis can be very good, 30' or more. But Lake Erie (and Great Lakes in general) are not tropical...

    Hello from Pa.

You also need to come up to Erie and dive with us on our Lake Erie shipwrecks once the season starts in June. You can talk with Captain Pete about the right wrecks to start on. Home - Lake Erie Adventure Charters

    Colored Crotch strap

Ooh, get the Stripper Thong Red one, they are great (on some divers)! Forget I said that, I meant to say the Red is high visibility so rescuers can find your... Forget I said that, it's a great deal and you'd be crazy to pass it up. Yes, that sounds pretty innocuous. That. :D

    Supporting our local dive shops

I just got my tank farm vip'd and ordered a fill card. Doing what I can. This is a hard time for northern dive shops to be shut down, just as classes are about to kick off.

Jumping off a boat with secondary reg on necklace.

No not a problem. Your bungee should keep it around your neck and be long enough to transfer to your mouth, not long enough to jump up, evade your chin, sneak around your primary reg, tear off your mask, and harpoon you in the eye.
