Selecting the Best BCD for Me

Getting fitted and comfortable is a lot of work, but well worth it. Scubaboard is an excellent resource filled with opinions of divers, but it only will serve to inform you as you make your decisions. Sounds like you have a local SB'er shop willing to take you through the process, so I suggest...

    Suit me Up....

I found mine used on ebay for $200. Hard to beat that.

    Suit me Up....

I have about 70 dives on my Hollis NeoTek with no problems. You may wish to see if there are lightly used semidrys in your sizing. That is how I got mine, off of ebay. I rather think semidry suits make more sense than 7mm, but that is my opinion. There are others here, good luck with your search.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I have been sadly remiss in updating, but here is my update. My drysuit was shipped December 21st and went to France and then Germany before being shuttled back and forth between 2 German cities every day for a week for some reason, then was flown to the US and was at my house the next morning...

Are you an EXPERIENCED recreational diver?

That's awful. But in my diving not having a reg in one's mouth on the surface is common, unless there is a need for it. Getting back on the ladder, reg in no question. Rough seas, reg in. Shore diving entry/exit, reg in. But no breaking waves, no current, waiting for the rest of the dive team to...

THE "PERFECT ( being horizontal ) TRIM" HOAX

I wouldn't presume to offer to remove the speck in another diver's eye while ignoring the plank in my own. I don't care about someone else's trim preference per say. But the diver flutter kicking forward 3 feet over the silty bottom, chest up and eyes ignorant to the mighty silt-screen he leaves...

    Help with purchase decision

I love my Deep6 regs, but I think the OP made the right decision given his needs and interests. Getting into reg service is not everyone's cup of tea, and it really is more about being an extension of the hobby than it is about saving money until you've owned your regs for a while or have 10...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I assume that is 2 2-4 hour dives each day. There is nothing special about this drysuit compared to any other trilam drysuit regarding warmth. I would suggest reading existing undersuit threads and using the undersuit manufacturer guides to thermal layers. If you want further advice I would...

What is the hardest thing about scuba diving?

Probably a tie between paying for everything and the logistics of hauling it all around.

Wishing all of you Seasons Greetings

Merry Christmas to all! And 2020 can go jump in a lake except that's what I do so it needs to go find a lake I don't like to jump in.

    DRIS glow tubes

I love my 200' glo toobs. When I night dive they are bright enough that I often don't even use a dive light. I don't like flashing strobes so these work great for me.

    Wasted Days and Wasted Dives

Hah, if I got such a pretty picture I'd call it a triumph! Hmm, it was a triumph... I got to see a pretty picture in this thread and you were the one who got pounded to bring it. Thanks friend! :giggle: Better fortunes in 2021.

Good luck, you'll need it. I gave up and bought new ones, but maybe you'll get lucky.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I got my shipping notice that my drysuit will be on its way a full month ahead of schedule. I don't know if Brexit would impact shipping from the UK to the US, but all in all I am delighted not to have to find out. Will update when it arrives.

    Going with Doubles

I have a set of lp112 doubles. Every time I pick them up I ask why I must punish myself this way - they weigh 100lbs, plus plate. The answer is that I need the gas, but a single lp112 and an al40 pony was much more comfortable for me. But the gas management advantages to doubles are undeniable...

    Black Friday

It's an Ursuit Softdura with some customizations. The product page has the rundown of the customizations they made and a list of available upgrades. But it starts out as a stock suit. Drygloves, quick neck, etc are all upgrades. If you want an Ursuit it's a good way to go and save some money...

    How to float a strobe?

I have no experience with situations using a strobe like this - a reel is the only good option in my region - but you guys are way overthinking this. It's a strobe. A little flashy thing. It doesn't need much to float up. Go to the nearest store with a boat/fishing section and buy yourself a...

    DPV Escape Attempt

You really would think that a man running a $35 million ponzi scheme would have prepared a better escape plan. Or at least bought a rebreather.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I can't really answer any of your questions, but your selection is virtually the same as what I ordered and am waiting on. The reflective tape, maybe I can help with... it is reflective when lit up. If you want to show up in the beam of a flashlight, it is good. If you don't want to reflect...

    Pony tank thoughts/advice?

A simple adapter will suffice. DIN whip with a yoke adapter would be preferred.
