One dead and one Missing at Buford Springs (FL, USA)

This thread from 2020 has some pictures of the boardwalk and the spring itself. It also has a discussion about what effects the easier access to the site could lead to... https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/buford-sink.581573/

One dead and one Missing at Buford Springs (FL, USA)

It used to be a very difficult to access site. But they put a boardwalk in a couple of years ago. It made it much easier to get to the spring, but it does mean that a lot more divers are now diving it than before. Previously having to find the spring in the middle of a swamp probably put most...

One dead and one Missing at Buford Springs (FL, USA)

When the conditions are good the viz can be crystal clear. The shear size of the Cavern (it is huge) make it more like diving in open blue water where you can be a lot deeper than you think you are if you aren't paying attention. There are lines at the bottom with arrows, but from my experience...

Is the Mares Bolt SLS a good BCD? Does Mares make good BCDs in general?

Before I switched to a BP/W (best choice) I was able to retrofit my Mares BC with a homemade crotch strap similar to the Dive Rite 1" one. I threaded it around the waist belt. Made a world of difference!

Is the Mares Bolt SLS a good BCD? Does Mares make good BCDs in general?

I had a Mares BC for over ten years. Never had any issues. It was rugged and dependable. I only sold it when I switched to a BP/W setup. From my experience the Mares brand is more popular in Europe than in the US, which might lead to you getting more negative feedback here on Mares. There are...

    UK Tech diving spots?

The Pembrokeshire coast on the South West of Wales has some great diving, and some in the technical range such as the Lucy wreck. https://divernet.com/world-dives/wrecktour-3-the-lucy/ I haven't dived it since I got tech trained, but I visit the UK every year and have shore dived around...

    Transiting the Gallery...

When you guys traverse the top of the gallery, do you have a particular route you prefer, other than staying as high as you can. I have only dived Ginnie a handful of times (intro level), and I feel like it is a different experience every time. I have had a few dives where the effort was...

    Dive reports with beach/weather conditions

@Ghost95 Thank you so much for the info. I looked at the Sharkys webcam and it looked good so we are on our way! (2 hour drive, hence why I wanted to be sure of conditions). I will post a report later.

    Dive reports with beach/weather conditions

Does anyone know if it is worth heading out there today? The marine forecast is saying 2-3ft seas and choppy.

    Dive reports with beach/weather conditions

Thanks for the reports, I'll be heading out there today (Thursday). But I am worried about the wind and waves. It looks choppy from the Marine forecast.

    Shearwater AI Tansmitter Battery Change

The manual I have recommended standard Alkaline batteries as well as the Lithium, but I get your point. So do you still replace your Lithium every two months, or do you wait for them to run low?

    Shearwater AI Tansmitter Battery Change

No, I just use standard AA alkaline batteries. But I am very strict on replacing them every two months. Do you still replace the Lithium ones every two months or do you not worry about them until they run low?

    Shearwater AI Tansmitter Battery Change

Do you guys worry about the batteries in the transmitter leaking? I know with the AA ones in the computer itself I remove and replace every two months to avoid leakage. But I don't remember reading that anywhere about the transmitter? I haven't changed the battery in mine since I bought it. I'm...
