Same here. I have used the same slate over multiple dives with a different plan on each side and the ink has not run or faded. Duct tape and sharpie was a game changer for me. I used to use a pencil and then try to erase it every time which took forever and made a big mess. Now I can just peel...
I also use a wrist slate with white duct tape on it. I then write it on with a Sharpie. This approach is really easy and allows me to keep my old plans for reference.
I write my planned deco schedule, my lost deco gas plan, my maximum Time To Surface, and my minimum gas.
To encourage you with my experience, I bought a BP/W for my ten year old and she absolutely loves it! Compared to a regular bcd it is night and day. Her trim in the water is great, and she only needs a couple of lbs (with a short steel plate) if we are in salt water or using a wetsuit in the...
This was what I was planning on if I needed to. Shoot one as per usual. Then clip a second bag to the same line and send it up.
It did make me think about how my DSMBs are rigged. To do this it would be easiest to have a bolt snap or some other clip at the base of your second bag.
I'm actually...
I finally got to dive the Hydro Atlantic! It was amazing, and definitely lived up to the hype. The dive itself was amazing. Visibility was 100'+. The wreck is huge, with so much life on it and interior areas to explore. The main bridge superstructure has collapsed on the starboard side, but you...
I found a BC integrated weight pocket on the Captain Dan Wreck in Pompano yesterday (July 3rd).
Let me know if you dived it and came up missing one or if you know someone that did!
It had not been down there long, it was very clean.
I just bit the bullet and bought a Subgravity Short plate for my ten year old. She loves it and it fits her perfectly. It was $130 with shipping. They are always in such demand that I don't think I will have any trouble selling it when she grows out of it. I understand wanting to save money, but...
The George's Valentine wreck is amazing. When I lived closer it was my favorite shore dive.
Diving at slack high tide always gave me the best conditions. Try for winds out of the West and waves less than a foot if you can. If you walk down the beach to just past the rocks and head straight out...
I am looking for a second small tank for my 10 year old.
Would like to buy any of the following size tanks:
Aluminum 50
Aluminum 53
Aluminum 63
I'm in Central Florida but could pickup in Cave Country.
Thanks!
Interesting article by the BBC, on how many wrecks there are in the world, and what the implications are for their future as more are found.

That is so cool! She looks really comfortable in her gear.
So my daughter just did her first dive in the pool with her BP/W and a basic harness and she loved it!! It was her longest dive yet at 36 minutes and when I thumbed the dive she wanted to stay down longer! Her trim was a thousand times...
I bought the PADI Seal Team materials online (workbook, DVD, stickers etc), and worked through that with my daughter in the pool starting when she was 8. I think it is such a good way to introduce them to Scuba. She loved it, and is really looking forward to her Junior Open Water class next...
So I remembered I had an old basic harness lying around. I rigged it with the small plate from Subgravity (which is solid quality by the way), and the singles wing from DGX. It looks good, and it fit my daughter well (she liked it!). The webbing is stiff, so I think once she has dived it a few...
Was hoping for some advice on dive gear for girls...
I am buying a short BP from Subgravity for my 10 year old daughter (she is 4'9"), and I am trying to decide on a harness.
I can't decide between the Dive Rite Basic Harness, or the Dive Rite Deluxe harness. I've looked through old threads...
Nice video! I dived the Bone Line to the Maple Leaf the other day and saw the Wonder Tunnel jump on the other side. I wondered what it looked like down there!
Was the leading diver in your team in backmount?
So I just bought another new 200' Light Monkey Reel. And this time I decided to follow the advice of pulling all the line off and putting it in a bucket to let the line swell. I will then put it back on and see if I have the same issue with this reel. My previous two I just used them as they...
