Going From Tdi An/dp To Helitrox?

It has been 2 years since I took AN/DP, which is a while I agree. But the point I was making is that regardless of time, TDI says this is not possible. You have to to take the whole class.

Going From Tdi An/dp To Helitrox?

    - Yes my instructor was able to teach the Helitrox class at the time I took AN/DP. - I spoke to TDI directly and they said that I would have to take the whole Helitrox class. I could not use my Deco class to fulfill the requirements.

Going From Tdi An/dp To Helitrox?

I know this thread is 5 years old but..... The above quoted information is no longer correct. I called TDI after reading this thread, thinking I could get my Helitrox card from my Deco Procedures instructor by doing the Trimix classwork and not repeating the class, and they told me no that is...

DIR- Generic HELP DECIDE - Steel HP133

I just finished a year long search for double steels, after trying various different sets in the water. I tried double HP130s for about a month. I consider myself pretty strong but the stress they put on my lower back made it not worth it to me. My back would hurt for a week after each dive. I...

Where to Rent Large Steel Doubles

@rx7diver I did think about the horseshoe design, but stuck with the donut as it has worked for me with my other two wings, so one less skill to learn. I'm curious how my current HP120 setup will fare in open water. Tomorrow (130' wreck dive) will be my first salt water dive with my current...

Where to Rent Large Steel Doubles

So yet another update.... I just ordered the Dive Rite Classic XT wing. I went with the donut version over the horseshoe as I that is the style I have always used and am comfortable with. I didn't really want to shell out that much for a new wing, but Dive Rite's reputation (plus a lifetime...

What was your experience with covid testing turnaround time

I just used CVS and DOH for a COVID PCR test for an international flight requirement. CVS results were back in about 24 hours. DOH (using LabCorp) got to me about 6 hours after my flight landed! Definitely recommend CVS! Just know that you have to make an appointment about two weeks out to...

    Shearwater Perdix AI SAC calculation

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for explaining it so clearly.

    Shearwater Perdix AI SAC calculation

That is a really good idea. That way you can get a 'true' average for the main bottom portion of the dive. I know looking at the graph my SAC rate is very high on the descent as I add air to my wing (Shearwater's SAC rate ignores the first 30 secs of a dive for just this reason, but most...

    Shearwater Perdix AI SAC calculation

Right now I can't see a noticeable difference, some are slightly higher, some are slightly lower, but I haven't had my Perdix that long, so probably need to do some more dives to get a true comparison. Also my deco is usually 15 minutes or less. I imagine on much longer hangs any difference will...

    Shearwater Perdix AI SAC calculation

I was just wondering this same thing about my SAC rate when it came to switching to a deco gas without a transmitter. Comparing my deco dives to my non deco dives the SAC rate is very similar, making me think that somehow the Perdix does compensate for when you change gas, but I'm not sure how?

Where did you solo dive today?

Hudson Grotto, Florida. Viz was AWFUL! This site is usually dark and very tannic. But today was something else. I couldn't see my fins while standing in the water. Silt everywhere. Uncomfortably warm (86' freshwater just feels wrong). It was ugh! Also, (I found out at 100') they have removed...

    Hudson Grotto: Found Wetnotes Folder

Today I found a black nylon case with wetnotes and a pencil at the bottom of Hudson Grotto. It was at about 100' deep, about 30' from the 100' platform. It looked in good condition like it had been dropped pretty recently. It was a really nice looking case. I gave it to the staff at Scuba West...

Looking for dive buddy for apprentice cave diving & south Florida diving.

I'm taking Cavern / Intro to Cave in October / November. Same as you I will also be looking to do lots of entry level cave dives once I get certified. I'm also AN/DP and interested in diving the South Florida area Wrecks (the Hydro Atlantic is #1 on my wish list!). PM me if you want to plan...

Best Orlando Dive Shop for Reg Service

Dayo Scuba in North Orlando is excellent. They have serviced my regs for years with no issues. Only caveat, right now there is a huge backorder on service parts because of all the supply chain issues with COVID etc. I have been waiting almost two months for my Oceanic Service Kits to come in. I...

Where did you solo dive today?

My wife (who also dives) has always being very supportive of me solo diving (she understands I don't really have anyone who can dive with me on my schedule, and who is willing to dive a lot of the random lakes and springs that I go to!). However recently she said that I needed to do a better job...
