Exercises for recovery from knee injury/surgery?

I had a serious knee injury a few years ago. Plenty of gentle stretching and eventually riding a bicycle was the exercise that got me moving again. Hope all goes well

    Advice on headaches/nausea please!

+1. I used to get headaches and changing my breathing pattern fixed it. I now breath as cave diver explained and rarely get headaches. I sometimes get nausea while surfacing. Usually on square profiles like boat dives. I think its the reverse presure in my sinuses. On shore dives I never get...

    sticking regulator

Mine never have. My occy is 15 years old and has never stuck. I usually have a tank connected when washing them, and while I soak them, I purge air as well to wash any salt from near the valve. If I dont have a tank connected, I place the regs carefully in clean water otherwise if you...

Best way to fix a inflator hose button?

Im a maintenance fitter / electrician so Id have a go to fix just about anything. Id disassemble it before trying to glue anything. If its a cracked button give it a physical workout to make sure it wont fall apart, then use some araldite and plug from the inside. For leaky seals, I used...

How do you store your gear?

BCD and wetsuits hang in the closet, all other loose gear in a plastic tub in the garage. I like to keep all loose gear together so I dont forget anything. I have 2 tubs for putting wet gear in after a dive and for washing gear once at home. Then two tubs stack together and loose stuff...

    Stop the Sea Shepherd

I did not say that. Maybe you have me confused with someone else. Or maybe you are trying to force a point by putting words into my mouth. My point is this- The humane treatment of an animal is killing it in the quickest and most painless way possible, whether its a sick/injured pet a...

Dumbest things you've seen a newbie diver do

I have a photo of a dive buddy with a pained look on his face, applying pressure to the top of his head to stop bleeding. Myself and two mates grew up together and started diving at 18. We were all on holidays doing some boat dives. Buddy No.1 gets out of the water and takes his tank/BCD...

    Stop the Sea Shepherd

I would argue that what I said is not hypocritical. From dictionary.com Hypocrit- a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. Humane- characterized by...

    Stop the Sea Shepherd

Am I not able to consume animal products while simultaneously have concerns for the humane treatment of those animals? Nothing is that black and white.

    Stop the Sea Shepherd

I see your point. A problem I have with Whaling is the technique, an explosive tipped harpoon. It seems barbaric and who knows how much the whales suffer?

    Vyper Air?

Mine works OK. It calibrates easily and Ive used it sucessfully on 2 dives so far. I have an analogue compass too, and if I expect some serious navigation on a dive Ill use the analogue, but for the everyday recreational dive the electronic compass is sufficient.

    Vyper Air?

Didnt see your reply until now. As far as I know you cannot reset the transmitter while in dive mode but you shouldnt have to. I was using the computer in gauge mode and it was displaying out of range (for a few days) so I turned the transmitter off. Then on the next dive (in dive mode) I...

    Short Fills In HP Tanks

+1. My HP tank rarely gets filled properly. I think most dive shops get in a routine of filling 3300 psi and need to be reminded for HP tanks.

    dive computer dilemmas

Second that. Ive got an AI comp and its simplified my diving. Still have an SPG but its clipped to by BC and I dont even notice it. It is good however to quickly flash a buddy so they know where we are at as opposed to a computer screen where they might not know where to look.

    Vyper Air?

I got one 3 months ago and have done 12 dives with it. Its my first computer. Mine has a glitch in the maximum depth alarm cannot be changed. Im sending it back under warranty but its a hassle. Other than that its been great. I did loose comms once, which was mostly my fault, but after...
