I gently scuff the fin with 120 grit sandpaper. Then cautiously heat the fin. Apply the tape. Use a roller to get good adhesion. If it needs better adhesion gently heat again then roll a second time. The set I have now has been on for 2 years. Over 250 dives, in pools, beaches, and rocky shorelines.
For the price of a new set of dui dry gloves that go to the zip ring ($180) you could buy the Ultima rings ($180). These would mount to your wrist seal. Although if I were you I would also buy a set of sitech pu rings (part number 60251, $20) and glue them on the suit in place of the zip seal...
I use the white and red conspicuity tape made by 3M. Apply it with a heat gun and it will stick forever. Extremely visible. I can be identified easily from a far distance.
I've called around looking for an additional set of glove rings. They range in cost from 100 to 120 dollars. At that price I might just buy a full kit.
I dive my 720's without any liner down to 50 just fine. Below that I use a Burton Power Stretch Liner. The little white liner fabric of the glove works fine at keeping your hand warm. As far as sizing, I have a set loaded that I can put a liner into. I just dive the same size year round. No need...
I understand I am giving a male opinion in a female perspective forum. The local pool we use can vary between 74 and 83 degrees. Even when it is in the 80 degree realm I wear a 3 mil. I tend to be warm for the first hour or two. But come hour 4 to 6 I start to get cold. The benefit is that while...
In the past I have used your method above. I just thought it would be simpler to just be able to snap it on and off without the need to line up the seal. I've already reassembled the cuffs in the above manner. Maybe next time I'll test some different orings and try to get a waterproof connection...
I am talking about this:
Part 1: oval cuff glued to suit. (without inner ring or seal)
Part 2: Ultima suit side ring
Part 3: Ultima glove side ring.
I want to be able to put part 1 and part 2 together without needing the seal between the two pieces. Instead I want to try using the supplied...
So I have been running my suit without seals, just the gloves for over a year. No problems at all. I originally put a latex seal on the ring, installed it into the oval cuff, then trimmed the latex seal. Everything is hunky dory. I took the thing apart today. Then had an interesting idea...
Has...
The typical leak on the Antares system is where the glove ring meets the suit ring. Usually occurring due to improper seating when putting them on. Or, if the glove was tight, when you reached outwards.
