    Ultima Dry Glove System question

Note: If you don't have dry gloves. Shove a yeti cup in the wrist seal. I use a standard tank for the neck seal. Just shove the tank inside the neck seal.

    Ultima Dry Glove System question

Super easy solution. You have DUI zip rings on that suit. Turn suit inside out. Take individual DUI wrist zip seal, turn that inside out Reattach Ultima rings to wrist seal Attach gloves Inflate Check for leaks Uninstall Ultima rings Flip DUI wrist seals over again Reinstall wrist seals...

    New Zipper

Divers Cove does do excellent work. But there suggested turn around times do not hold water. I've been told 2 weeks for a zipper, ended up being 5. Their work is great, if they just gave an accurate estimate of time I would give them 5 stars. Gamble is, in my opinion, the best around. He did a...

    Probably stupid question

Example: If all of your gear including neoprene is 14 lbs buoyant, that means you need 14 lbs of counterweight. Now if you descend to depth then some of your gear might lose buoyancy (think neoprene.) Now you would be 28 lbs overweight. So you would need a 28 lb wing to compensate. Just a...

    Ultra Cold Water diving

Scientifically speaking... Ocean water at it coldest will only be 28.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Colder than that and it's a solid. Fresh water that number is 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cape Cod... too dangerous or okay?

I think it's different strokes for different folks. Some are afraid of spiders, snakes, or sharks. You mitigate your accessed risks according to your beliefs. I just don't see the need to in NE waters. A GW is the least of my worries day/night, shore/boat dives.

Cape Cod... too dangerous or okay?

Why all this GW fear? Stay on the bottom, GW like to attack from below you. If you are on the bottom it can't come from below. That means you should easily see it approaching/showing interest in you. That goes for any shark. I have got in the water while actively in a chum slick to clear a...

    Ultima Dry Glove System question

You would follow the directions to mount the rings to a suit that had glued on latex seals. If you want to use a suit ring, you will need to remove the DUI zip rings and replace them with a sitech pu ring.

    Glue/Adhesives for drysuits

I'm a fan of a dremel with a 120 grit sanding wheel. Medium speed. Slowly remove the glue. Do not apply a lot of pressure. That gets the job done in about 45 seconds per cuff.

    Glue/Adhesives for drysuits

I've used the 620. Still working on using it all. I am half way through the can. In that time I have done ~ 10 pairs of wrist seals, 3 sets of boots, and 3 neck rings. The stuff is really sticky. Doesn't provide any room for error. If you mess up, you start over. I put 2 coats on the suit and 2...

    Poling/Nina T

I was referring to the coordinates you gave. Those numbers are incorrect for both the poling/Nina t. They correspond to 34ft of water. I have the real numbers for the Poling. Which lies in 94ft of water. So I am sure I know what I am talking about. Just to prove my point. Here is a screen shot...

    Poling/Nina T

Those numbers are incorrect. That is 34ft of water. I know where the Poling is. I'm more so looking for a compass heading/distance.

    northern New England conditions

You might be able to pull off a dive somewhere like Folly Cove, where it is protected from the wind. But I would not dive Jamestown, RI or anywhere near there. A lake/pond is a great idea. Personally, it's doable. The getting out would be tricky. But no way would I go with someone that is not...

    northern New England conditions

I don't think you will be doing any diving in the New England area on Saturday. The forecast is calling for a south wind 24mph sustained, gusts to 48mph. Waves will be 6ft every 8 seconds. That is for Point Judith, RI. It is pretty much the same all the way up the coast.
