Dale,
Thanks for the great report.
During my last visit to Pavilion I had a chance to talk to someone connected to BC Parks and he mentioned Kelly Lake and that NASA had started to explore it as well. I suspect that there may be some future restrictions much like Pavilion. But they will...
Thank you Lynne....that was exactly the kind of response I was hoping for. Now that I am aware of the effect on myself I am going to ask the question of others whenever I can...my own unscientific project.
Cheers,
Bill
I have never noticed the pre-effect, if you can call it that, but I will be watching for it now.
Your last sentence did get me laughing. I did a quick review and re-read the field neurological exam and there were more than a couple of the questions that I would have to answer..."Nope...I...
Naive speculation is certainly welcome here after all my original post was just that. :D I welcome all theories...we just may find something out.
Cheers,
B
Thanx flots. I used to say that too but I modified it slightly when I realized that the opposite to "getting old" was "not getting old"....which sucked even worse. Now I proudly reveal my age whenever asked and tell people that I love getting "older", it's the "aging" part that sucks.:eyebrow:
Thanx for the info DDM. I was just diving air on this trip with average depths of 45 feet and BT up to 50 minutes. I am surprised that the narcotic effect wears off so quickly. I had assumed that slower tissues such as cartilage and tendon with their retained and higher N2 tensions would be...
As I stumble and bumble through my sixth decade I am noticing more and more the frailties of the human body.
I have moderate myalgia most of the time and I and my doctor are unsure of the cause...although I suspect a statin hangover from a trial period with a combo of those drugs a year...
Lasik for 7 years now, done at age 49.
The good stuff....tack sharp vision from 100 ft or so out to infinity. Outdoor activities like skiing are a breeze now as I don't have to worry about glasses fogging up etc etc.
The not so good stuff...when I was myopic and I was starting to...
Hi Tobin,
My wife is getting serious about getting into a BP/W rig after completing her 100th dive recently.
Her gear setup:
White's Fusion with Mk2 undies
Aqua Lung i3 BC with integrated weights
Dive Rite Slimline can light
Turtle fins
Aqualung Micra reg
Right now she is using...
Dale....just dove Johnson Lake near Barrier just over a week ago. It's a very clear lake as well....on par with or better than Pavilion. Nice people run the resort there as well so that would be one to add to the list too. BTW I enjoyed your video from your last trip to Pavilion.
BigHiller...You did an amazing job on that video. A pleasure to watch. Did you dive with an operator out of Port Hardy or on your own? Interested in diving there and would like to make some connections.
Kudos
I suspect that those who object to the sinking have already heard and understand this argument and it just doesn't matter to them. I believe their concern lies with the perception that their lifestyle will be disturbed by the hordes of noisy dive boats that will flood into the bay every day ad...
Some of them did. I do remember asking about that policy with AC a few years ago when we could still take 2 bags economy plus I think it was 20kg of sports equipment in a separate bag for no extra charge. The rub was that you had to pre-register that sports equipment at least 24 hours in...
I don't know for sure but it would be fun to guess. I think that the atmosphere inside the suit must be pure O2 and that it is pressurized to a level much less than the pressure inside the station. Entering the suit may be akin to a diver ascending quickly from depth. The suit is probably...
Well this one isn't inexpensive but if you would like to splurge some night go here:
~~~~~ Peter Merriman's ~~~~~
I saw a number of locals there one night entertaining their visitors.
One of the more impressive meals of my life!
That's good to hear. I guess the thing I like best about that bottom timer is the analog display. One glance and you instantly know where you stand even if you can't clearly read the numbers (aging eyes...haven't found the best U/W solution yet). I have started to change all of my instruments...
