    AL40s Anyone?

Wouldn't breathing one tank down more than the other be the opposite of what you want to do? If something happens to the tank [or reg of the tank] with more air, your dive would be limited to the tank with less gas, or feather breathing if possible.

    BP/W with weight belt

Haha, ok, now that makes sense.

    BP/W with weight belt

Wow.. With steels or what? (I dive dry with 34 pounds on AL80s, so 24 dry is unheard of for me.)

    BP/W with weight belt

I wear my weight belt inside my harness and under my crotch strap. However, if you only need to hold 10 lbs, then why not get ditchable weight pockets for on your harness?

    wing with built in STA?

Thank you but I was asking the OP. Back to the discussion, the Hollis Wing also has internal bungees so it can "shrink" (not the right word) up nice and small and as well, has a nylon internal bladder versus a rubber one (which could pinch when storing)

    Hi all

Welcome! What are the water temperatures where you dive?

    wing with built in STA?

Indeed, the STA can save some frustration there, haha.. Back on topic though, a bp/w that can roll up isn't really a true backplate, seems you want something with a back pad?

    wing with built in STA?

The "built in" tabs feed through the cam bands, if I remember correctly, but they certainly don't attach to velcro from what I see from looking at mine. The hollis wing dives fine without it on most occasions, but I noticed an improvement when I added my STA.

    wing with built in STA?

Hollis wings do not have a built in STA, you can dive the wing without a STA (generally without problems), but if you want one, you must buy it separately.

Another nut on the web with an OW ..

No need for the caps. ;) It's either the solo or elite harness, not both. (Just making sure you know) I personally prefer the elite harness, which I own on my Hollis BP/W. (selling, btw) Many people prefer the hogarthian (solo) harness, but I love the extra padding and releases. And as said...

    Time to gear up

Indeed, course usually includes the rental of gear. Regardless, wether now or after the course, stop in at your LDS and ask what they recommend, they are there to help.

Seen one of the toilets, but again, I am yet to dive the cut.

    Statue at the Cut (+Octo)

I've seen the gnome at Porteau, although I am yet to do the cut at Whytecliff, so I haven't gotten to see this statue.

SAR Swimmer - Help with gear

I honestly can't say, I guess that is something that you'd have to try on at your local dive store. My LDS rents wetsuit boots to be worn with dry suits, but they generally only rent Hollis F1's (fin) so I couldn't say for certain in your case. Hope that helps..

SAR Swimmer - Help with gear

Assuming you are wearing your drysuit, just buy a pair of wetsuit booties and wear a thick pair of socks.
