Mares Puck or spend a bit more for a Suunto Zoop?

Yes, thank you for clarifying that I am writing of the mission 3, air integrated unit. The only real issue with the one button function is on the mission 3 unit- on land it doesn't have the air gauge reading as the home/default screen, so you've got lot of presses of that one button to get to...

    Magnifying sheet?

Corrective lenses for your mask, wont work if you have Presbyopia(only have trouble with small things close up), it will make normal sized, objects very blurred, your better off getting a flip down magnifier on an Apollo mask- expensive for what it is $375usd- Apollo Sports: Dive Gear: Masks...

Mares Puck or spend a bit more for a Suunto Zoop?

Remember if you go inside 50bar the puck computer wont do the 3minute safety stop(the older version did) so you'll be wise to count it off the clock instead- pita if you start your safety stop at say 51bar and it suddenly stops counting and starts a low air warning/alarm(you can turn the beeper...

    XDEEP Black BT Review

It's a bit like avoiding the big Aussie duopoly supermarkets- all I ever buy from them is toilet paper. I like "the German product" it always has a lot of thought put into it. Now with the value of the euro dollar- European made isn't so expensive as it was before 2008, when Goldman Sachs...

    XDEEP Black BT Review

Cricket, I live in a country which is often over 33*c and some fools run around an oval in that heat chasing a leather skinned ball which weighs 1&3/4 lbs traveling over 100mile an hour.........This is why I scuba dive! The way I've seen these guys being spoken too here, due to their lack...

Suunto SK-7 Northern Hemisphere Compass- want to swap for a southern hemisphere unit.

It's new, never used in perfect working order- will swap it out for even a good used Suunto SH SK-7. I am in Australia, so the closer it is to me the better(someone moving to the NH????).

    XDEEP Black BT Review

For the EAN Xdeep its $300 cheaper then the petrel 2 in Australia, quite a significant saving. With a trimix upgrade it's still cheaper then the shearwater petrel 2 by $100, so I could buy a new SPG as well. So luck, played little into the purchase of the Xdeep for me, it came down to price...

failure rate of Scuba equipment and BCD

I do much more then that, I get a service on everything 200 dives or 2years- I check my gear before I leave home to make sure it's all good, that way after travelling an hour in a boat I can still dive that day, as I have more then 1 set of gear. ---------- Post added March 22nd, 2015 at 09:49...

D . Your weight is quite heavy for your height -you are 17kg over weight- it would be a big factor, how many beers do you drink in a week? Get a 15lt or 18lt tank and you'll lose weight! for sure, it will work you out. Or STOP DRINKING BEER!

Question Panic in the experienced diver?

Welcome to the thermocline! A humbling experience. Highly likely you were a good tad positive, catching lots of current, sailing and wasting your energy. You've reach the point where you begin to realise, hey "I could die here!". You over play it for a while, after 50 dives it(that...

Question Panic in the experienced diver?

Exertion will bring it on, so you can mitigate the severity by slowing down/being relaxed and getting better fitness out of the water, feels like your on Mogadon(its a anti-anxiety med/downer). Lets be real, unless your into wrecks your not going to bother going deeper then 30m. In saying that...

Question Panic in the experienced diver?

I had narcosis symptoms at 50ft one time, I didn't panic, but knew it I was narccy. I calmly took hold of a rock outcrop, chilled out for a minute and it went away- I put it down to dehydration, a fast descent and a bad nights sleep the nite before. Only ever felt that way below 35m and not...
