You have inspired me to start limiting my time in the restroom to once or twice a week... but look out when I do go :)
Seriously - I am in the same boat, so to speak - I travel for work weekly (leave sunday or monday and come back thursday or friday) and I end up spending all my time on the...
Hi Folks,
I was wondering how good (in terms of operational usefulness) wet-mate lenses are compared to their dry-mated counterparts... doesn't ocean gunk and whatnot get between the lense and the port when switching between them?
I never said I wanted the sensors inside the housing. I wonder if Pelagic/Suunto could adapt their wireless tank computer sensors to work with a camera to record that data.
The reason I am asking for this is for reef surveys.
OK - it finally happened... the hard drive on which I store all my photos and personal documents, failed. I've had hard drive failures before but none that contained important documents before. I was using an external maxtor drive (I figured if there was a fire or something it would be an easy...
That's really amazing - you did a really good job... I can't wait to get wet. I ended up buying a Sony PC1000 even though it is reported as having less-than-spectacular low-light-level performance (it's intended as a multiuse camera) - I hope I do 1/2 as well as you on your first try!
How many watts of halogen and/or HID are important? I assume there is a sliding scale of some kind... maybe we could use 60' depth and 60 foot vis as a measurement baseline?
For the record I just bought a Sony DCR-PC1000 (yes - I have heard they are poor in low-light) and I'm currently...
Hi Folks,
I am looking at some beach front property in the Phillipeans and I was wondering if you knew of any divers or swimmers that have been bitten by sea snakes...
Just for the record - the location I am looking at is FAR from the Muslim insurgency and is perfectly safe, so please do...
In your friends defence... when I was a brand new diver it was difficult for me to hold perfect bouyancy at 15 feet. Ironically, going a little deeper may have helped...
and it goes real fast! I really do like my Abyss plate, I have a Hammerhead also but by far I prefer the Abyss from a coolness factor.
The poster that pointed out to be careful with the web looping when using a triglide was correct - mine once came undone. I have since tightened it.
Actually owning a house in the caribbean that is rented, I have the following to say:
Count on the property not being used for about 3-4 months of the year:
1) Huricane season is about 1-2 months
2) You/your friends are going to want to use it
3) You will sometimes have difficulty...
we have seen that a lot in tech mail order (computer memory, harddrives, etc..) where you are told to buy it on your credit card and send it to [insert your corrupt country here] with the expectation that they are going to send you a money order or something. Yeeeeaaaa... people DO fall for that.
Actually being a hammerhead owner and diving salt with AL100's that are nearly neutral when at 500 pounds... I don't need any weight when my tank is empty. So - I agree with some posters on this board that have indicated that you should go with an aluminum plate to begin with. You DO need to be...
