Epcot dive quest - March 15th or 16th

Have you checked to see how many spaces are left for those dates? I understand they go quickly. I'm going June 9th and booked as early as I could. Really looking forward to it! I'll be in the earlier group (4:30). Anyone else from these boards going to be there? We'll be down as part of a...

    Air rings

Now that's a trick! -- blow VERTICAL bubble rings that travel horizontally and then play with them as the move through the water. Remarkable! Wish I could do that.

    Air rings

Mine work pretty nicely if I say, "Puh!" and really pop the "P" when I do it. I wonder if there is a secret to getting them to stay cohesive as they ascend?

Please Tell me That This is a Joke ?

Whoa! I didn't catch that this post was 16 pages long already when I made my comment about all the dandy colors you have to choose from with the fins. I see that ground has been covered already.

    Bad Press for "older" divers

John Glen went on a Space Shuttle mission at age 70 or so. Many of us 50+ guys bristle at someone telling us there are things we "can't" do. Here's to you, Sutherland -- :mooner:

    A sad but cool find.

Yeah, I had to cut my note short (had to go treat a patient, imagine that), but was going to point out that the jaw was pointed unlike any human with the exception of cartoon witches. Way too thick. No teeth or tooth sockets, no mental foramen, condyles too low relative to the occlusal plane...

    A sad but cool find.

Several things don't look right for that mandible to be human. (And I'm a dentist). Sure looks like it ought to be a mandible, just not human.

    Bad Press for "older" divers

Sounds like old Donald just screwed up and does not want to admit to poor technique or an outright mistake. I'm 53. I know some day I will die. It would be just fine with me if it happened while diving --might make the news for the first time in my life. But I don't want to go because of...

    Suunto Dive Manager & Vista???

I have had success on both my Desktop computer with 64 bit Vista and my laptop with 32 bit Vista getting my Vyper data to download. But-- since I downloaded the latest version of the Dive Manager software I've had no luck. My desktop has both USB and serial connectors and I've tried both...

    Vortex Springs

Well, I'd like to be able to tell you that the camera froze his hands and arms in the process of going up over his head to form the O.K. sign. But I'm afraid not. He was in his first day of open water rescue training that day. Maybe just practicing?? He was my roommate for the weekend ---...

    Vortex Springs

I could not believe the number of folks that were out Saturday at Vortex! It was COLD and rainy and breezy. On the surface you were going to be cold and wet, even if you didn't dive. Vortex water was the usual Vortex water, but surface intervals were miserable. And I had a great time...

    One day in Homosassa, suggestions?

Drift dive the Rainbow River or go over to the Blue Grotto near Williston. I'd enjoy doing either again. I believe you should only snorkel with the Manatees -- they are spooked by scuba. The Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park is good for non-divers too.

    Vortex Springs

Looks like our group will be about 20 or so divers large, so when you see a bunch of folks arriving at once it may be us. We are staying in Destin (more interesting places to eat and there's the beach) and I may not necessarily take my vehicle form Destin to Vortex. But if I do, I'll be in a...
