    Get them feet up!

Did that myself. I need trim weights anyways, so I weaved them right above the tri-glide on either side so they won't slip. Is there something wrong with that. It worked very well and didn't get in the way of my spool, D-Rings, etc. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Did I do something wrong?

Don't even consider a word dumpsterDiver said. You did everything exactly right. Sometimes you have to show some divers extra consideration. And because you can do this, follow a dive plan, keep tabs on air, alert someone when you are following the plan, shows me you're a textbook good DM Sent...

    Get them feet up!

I had a DIR mentor take a good look at me today. Got the issue solved. Thanks for all the suggestions. Turns out my tank had been a little low. So I marked where my straps should be with dots. I also weaved two 1 lb weights into my webbing on my harness. Those two fixes solved everything!

    Get them feet up!

I'm having trouble keeping my feet up while trying an anti-silting frog kick. I can still do it very well, but it is required to be able to keep the feet off the bottom. I've been doing the arch back, clench butt, knees bent thing. But I just can't seem to make it WORK. Any crazy "who knews"...

    Caring for DIN regulators

I bloody hate when people do that. Blast air into their dustcaps by opening the tank to full bore, scaring the **** out of everyone on the boat. Every time I see that happen it makes me furious. Partly because it scares the crap out of me, secondly because it just makes you look like an ass.

    Caring for DIN regulators

I soak my DIN D1 first and Second (Cold versions) with the DIN connection screwed all the way in to the DIN connection on my plastic BCD hanger, and I put the BCD on the hanger too, The DIN fitting on my plastic hanger allows for a watertight seal, so I just put everything on the hanger, dip it...

    New gear set up!

Just don't forget to buy a back-inflate when the time comes ;) (Flame shield on)

    100% new

While it's completely out of my qualifications, and my business. I'll still say it. I've met a total of 4 Ex-Navy divers in my life, and they said that the training was so backbreakingly hard that they simply don't enjoy diving any more.

Buoyancy in water in respect to breathing

This is a little trick I like to do just before I go into the water on all of my dives- Take a good mental note of your relaxed, natural breathing rate while on the surface. Then while just swimming along, try to keep that rythm. Unless you need to do something to your buoyancy that you'd have...

    Where to learn in Fiji

SSI and PADI are probably the two most recognized. One should acknowledge the other fairly readily. I know that you can get gear, air fills, etc. with an OW card from just about any agency short of "Joe Bob's Independent Dive Shack". \ Now whether or not the prerequisits for PADI courses such...

Shore Diving in Panhandle of Florida

When I dive the Perdido Pass Jetties, I try to hop in right as high tide starts, because afterwards the water pulls out fairly quick. I don't know how the Destin Jetties are, though

    Visiting Destin Area

Hey, since you're in Alexandria, check out Bayou Divers. They are in Monroe, which is a little ways from you, but they make frequent trips in the area to Arkansas lakes and surrounding SCUBA parks. Great bunch of people. They seem to go everywhere my LDS, (Red River SCUBA) goes. EDIT: As in...

    Specialty Dive

While this is OT, I still find it very funny that the "Canadian Scuba Diver!" pic in your signature has a diver wearing split fins, legs flailing, almost a 45 degree angle of terrible trim, and a big ole SPG hanging down not clipped off. Is this how all Canadians dive?

    HOG Harness?

I seem to remember seeing a video on DRIS' YouTube page a while back, and you guys had a semi-hogarthian harness on showcase. I looked for it on multiple dealer's website, including the HOG website. I'd really like to buy one if I knew where I could get one. By the way- I'm in LOVE with my...

    MRS plus... dodgy?

With the newer models of the MRS system they seemed to have ironed the kinks out. I bought a Mares Dragon this year, put it through extensive testing, and it held up to every single one. Though I will admit, they are NOT robust or very reliable looking, they get the job done. That being said...

Any Tips for training in Doubles/Drysuit?

I use a smaller bungee octo style necklace to keep my HOG 32lb inflator hose in check from floating about. Just build the bungee necklace AROUND the harness, so that you can make it as small as you need it Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
