    Ko Lipe In October

Dove there in 2013, during the first week of Oct. I think it rained once or twice during the 6 days we were there, all light drizzles rather than huge storms. Definitely did not prevent any diving. Visibility wasn't that great, around 10-15m. I did enjoy the dives back then and there was a fair...

Where Would You Go Diving ?

If the goal was to prioritise dives per dollar, I would do Tulamben, Bali. Best value for money diving, especially if you're a macro photographer. The muck/macro diving around Tulamben is decent but 5-10 minutes by car away is Seraya, which is supposed to be a macro paradise. When I dived there...

    Going To Asia

A few decent places there. Liberty Dive has already been recommended. I usually dive with Matahari Tulamben Resort & Spa just because it is so convenient. Wake up, walk 10m to the dive shop by the sea, suit up and then walk into sea to start your dives. Want to dive the Liberty wreck? Walk 200m...

Need Site Advice From Kl Or Singapore

Would love to, but I've exceeded my dive trip quota for that period. Wife starts complaining when I go diving too often :-P Have fun! Would love to see a review when you get back.

    Safe To Dive Sipadan?

Sadly enough, there were a few more kidnappings lately: Four Malaysian crew members kidnapped by gunmen off Sabah coast Two separate kidnapping incidents within the space of a week. They don't seem to be targeting tourists as much anymore, going for ship crews instead.

Need Site Advice From Kl Or Singapore

Dived with DiveRACE E in the Similans. Good boat, pretty comfortable, great crew. Planning to dive with them again. Have not been to Anambas Reefs though, so can't comment there.

Perhentians/redang In August - Is It Worth It?

Just came back from diving there last week. I covered Redang Island a bit in a previous post: Can't make Sipadan work. Redang? It's still one of my favourite places to dive today. Thoughts from this most recent trip though: There has been significant coral die off from when I last dived the...

    Can't make Sipadan work. Redang?

I've dived TARP (in Kota Kinabalu) and Redang island before. Both are decent diving although my not so extensive experience says that Redang Island is better. Much more marine life, the corals are richer and in better shape. Apparently at diving depths (as opposed to snorkeling depths), the...

    Malapascua

A third vote for Evolution :) . My wife and I went there in Dec 2015 and she did her AOW. Compared to my own AOW done at a "5 star PADI dive centre" in the Philippines, her training was on a totally different class above mine. Evolution's training is far more thorough and complete, with far more...

Dive Centres recommended for Rescue/Divemaster course

I just finished an EFR/Rescue course at Evolution (http://evolution.com.ph/) in Malapascua, Philippines and have nothing but great things to say about them. My wife did her AOW at the same time and comparing her AOW with mine was night and day - I felt I just got a card while she learned so much...

Diving Bali - USAT Liberty in Tulamben

Never tried Tulamben Wreck Divers, so can't compare. I've dived twice with Matahari Tulamben Resort, Dive and Spa (ABOUT US). Been meaning to write a review for them, but haven't gotten to it yet. They are right on the beach, in between Drop Off and the USAT Liberty. For both dives, you just...

    Review: 2100 Prescription Mask

(This is a product/manufacturer review. Was not sure whether to put it here or in the Fins/Masks forum. If not appropriate, let me know and I will move it) Ordered a 2100 Black Mask from Seavision in May. Has survived multiple diving trips to date and am quite satisfied with it. Thought I would...

    Hello from China! Diver delurking

Hi guys! Been lurking on scubaboard for a little while. Love the wealth of information here and hoping to contribute back to the community a bit with some of my own experiences. Will be writing a few of my own experiences shortly. Only been diving a couple of years, so definitely a newbie...

    Statistics on divers from China?

If you can read/write Chinese, this board seems to be popular among the mainland Chinese. Ran into a big group of 50+ divers from China invading Tulamben, Bali over the Oct holidays. They all came from this board: ?? - ?? Fairly active, lots of serious divers.
