Plus the Torpedo Ray was looking pretty beaten up (though with it's size, it had probably seen a lot of action). At least one of the lobsters looked to be clawless. Based on my dive logs from the same time of year and time of day, 2 and 1 years ago, the temp was 9 degrees cooler at the same depth,
Depends on the model. A number of Scubapro regs come with an adapter kit that removes the yoke and makes it a permanent DIN fitting (until you choose to put the yoke back on). Other brands will do the same if you pick the right reg.
To Scubapro,
Is there a technical paper on the trimix algorithm that's used? I'm looking for the correlation between the MB conservatism factors and the gradient factors in the traditional Buhlmann model. I'm finding it hard to generate a bailout plan that relates to the computer predicted...
I used the beta Trimix firmware and it made some useful changes even in Nitrox mode - such as the ability to support 10 tanks without the restriction of T1->TD->T2 population order (some of my dives used T1 + T2 without TD turned on, you couldn't have T2) plus it introduced a 16 compartment...
Not quite, but it's now available as a separate update. The 1.7 update is for non trimix modes. I just flashed my Sol (it had the beta trimix F/W on it) with the released image and all looks good (pending a dive on it). No charge to Galileo owners if you have at least the PMG option...
The 4th Element range work very well.. If I'm on a trimix dive or it's winter, I'll wear a Xerotherm base layer with an Arctic top layer. Summer only? depending on the temps, either of them individually. The wicking powers are excellent.
Every one of my TDI certs has taken at least a month to be registered on the online app - just wondering if this is slow processing, an issue with the dive center or something else.
The reefs off Utila have some great swim throughs and canyons, some directly from shore entry, some requiring a boat for easy access. Based on your equalizing post however, I'd recommend you get that issue fixed and get really comfortable in the water before even considering another course or...
I tried the sticky mount but the curve of the helmet was such that the adhesion wasn't great. I dismantled the head strap thing and used the front plate as a mount on the helmet with stainless hardware to ensure a secure fit. This allows the camera to be near horizontal through vertical...
I used to use mine using the elasticated three-band head strap that was standard issue and secured it to my reg necklace through some thin line. I had seen too many ride off divers heads during a giant stride so the tether was the final line of security. The line was kept short and tied to the...
I use a pair of Liquid Image lights (Model 343, 300 lumens and 60 degree spread) mounted on a helmet. They provide enough ambient light in a cave along with my primary. They can be seen in action here:

I shoot raw so I *can* post process. As other posters have commented, post processing isn't new or unique to digital photography - it's been around forever. Ask your friend "what would Ansel do?"
I take the remote fob off the key ring and bolt snap the non-electronic key to a d-ring inside my drysuit leg pocket. Ocean, fresh... doesn't bother the key and I make sure I shake it dry before sticking it in the lock.
I guess it depends in this thought experiment by what you mean of 'never stop delivering' - once pressures equalize, 'delivery' will be reduced to diffusion.
The math behind it... 3000 psi = 3000/14.7 = 204 atmospheres.
204 atmospheres occurs at (204-1) * 33 = 6701 feet of sea water.
I'm guessing the reg would have given up a little earlier due to mechanical stress of trying to deliver sufficient air to this invincible diver's lungs. That, and...
