Ahhhhh…..the most controversial of subjects: snorkels (lol)

Wow, that's crazy! :snorkels: Probably the same here, just never paid attention. If anyone has leftover PVC from their bathroom remodel, I found this online.

Marking my fins and want outside opinions

They're called China markers, grease pencil. There's also a paint crayon that works well for marking gear. It comes in a chapstick style tube. Pretty durable, though I didn't do anything besides initials.

Review Getting into boating for scuba can be cheaper than you think, $5000, no need for a trailer, slip or storage

How long does it take to inflate? *Oops, missed the 1 hour assembly post.

Is that a 12'? I wonder how well it'd plane with a load of scuba gear.

    Parts for life

Or 100 dives. If you are late, you'll lose the parts for life. You also must have service at an authorized center, so if your reg has a problem while on a trip and pay for a tune-up, that will not be counted. Worse than a car warranty, in my opinion. I didn't see any mention of it, but are you...

Ahhhhh…..the most controversial of subjects: snorkels (lol)

It's generally in my mouth on the surface if seas are choppy, but there was no need to burn up my gas at the beginning of a dive while waiting for unprepared divers. I don't remember what the problem was, but they took forever. I happened to have a roll up in a pocket, so I chose to use it.

    First dive computer

My advice would be to not get too wrapped up in all the latest and greatest, unless that's your thing and you have the wallet for it. For predominantly vacation diving, your choices are good. Simple is easier to remember how to use and will fulfill your needs. I would only sweat these...

    Parts for life

Fair enough, though I could caution a question of swapping items on a parts for life purchase could only be reliably answered the contacting the manufacturer. Parts for life programs come with plenty of fine print, and they also do not include labor. I would not want to be boxed into purchasing...

    Parts for life

I don't think Scubapro has been active in this forum for a long time.

    First dive computer

Tell us more about you to get better advice. Are you totally hooked on scuba and will be diving all the time locally, or are you just going to be vacation divers? Is cost a factor? Do you want to buy once and cry once, or are you open to experimentation? Do you have a preference for...

Ahhhhh…..the most controversial of subjects: snorkels (lol)

There are a number of people on this board that still use tables. I wouldn't want to, but that doesn't make either right or wrong. I do think that hate on snorkels can be a bit over the top at times, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility to get hung up on a snorkel, as it is with...

    Wanted Chest strap for BP/W

Never used one on bp/w, but that sure doesn't look very comfortable. At $50 I wouldn't want one either. @Marie13 what do you clip it off to, a regular d ring or one of Piranha's cool hardware pieces? I got one of the HOG harnesses that are adjustable (with sternum strap) as a gift, but I...

    First dive computer

I realize that, but it is feasible depending on the number of dives per day and type of diving one does. There's no saying that an upgrade has to be more liberal, though. I personally don't like Suunto's for their level of conservatism, but they're fine computers. The OP asked if there was...

    First dive computer

Computers without bells and whistles work just fine. The only feature I like that is lacking in some of the inexpensive computers is a back-light. Not strictly necessary but it is a convenience. Suuntos are quite conservative, which may be a bonus for you. When starting out I bought a no-frills...

Ahhhhh…..the most controversial of subjects: snorkels (lol)

There's been a lot of posts about failure and sucking in water. I believe there was also a story about someone not learning how to properly clear a normal snorkel.

    Emergency Flotation Device

If you have a food saver and seal two together, you could make a pair of wings. Oral inflate for redundancy. Kirkland is generally very good brands. There was a guy who worked at my Costco and the NH liquor store. The liquor is all top shelf brands, so presumably the wine is pretty good too.

what to take for ears that won't pop?

Do you take it in lieu of, or in addition to, OTC or prescription allergy? I have "seasonal" allergies that persist even in winter, but luckily I've only needed to take it once for diving. I have to have a Zyrtec for breakfast daily, though. The first time I ever took it I had the worst flu...

Ahhhhh…..the most controversial of subjects: snorkels (lol)

What he said. I've used a roll-up snorkel maybe once in the last five years, while waiting for the group in rough seas. It usually lives on the bottom of my dive bag unless there's super choppy conditions where it might have a use. I did use it for a year or so for long surface swims while...

Keep reminding people: Don't rent scooters and don't dive without DAN accident insurance!

Yikes, at least you came up with a good story. Did you win said bar fight? Hope the diving was good after all that!

    Valve Handle Replacement

It's in Spain, maybe not helpful. Searching the model TK911257 a number of other results, but all in Europe.
