I'm heading back there in early Feb myself. While I'll happily dive in a shorty in November or April, I wouldn't risk a week of 3-dive days in February. Full 5mm I reckon.

I'm Scottish, and I paid good money for that snorkel, so it gets worn on every dive even though I seldom actually use it. (I'll reconsider that if it ever once gets in my way or causes me any grief, mind you, but so far so good...) On a semi-related note I take a knife/line-cutter on every dive...

I had a battery of tests before I was even allowed to start my pool training sessions. X-rays, various lung function tests, spiral CT. Even then, with clean results the average GP is not very likely to sign off - I was introduced to a specialist in dive medicine who was familiar with the BSAC...

The written exam was quite easy, but unfortunately I failed the oral.

It's disclosed to every op I dive with, and medically (re)signed off at least annually. My buddy is usually my daughter, and if the worst came to the worst she tells me the inheritance would soften the blow.
