Using "locktite" to 'secure' a DIN 1st-stage kit ?

I wouldn't go that far Rick. To be sure, getting into good practices, like not twisting the first stage when the DIN fitting is tight in the valve is the first line of defense, there's nothing to be lost with adding a SMALL amount of loc-tite to the threads. To me it's not the point of whether...

    Cenota on Cozumel

That would be Aerolito, Ron. I don't recall ever seeing a sign there at all. I agree however, there's not really a 'cavern' zone. At least not one worth diving in comparison to the mainland caverns as Christi mentioned.

what's up with this dir stuff.

Yeah Soggy, show me which one of these guys showed JJ and George how do to 18 grand at 300ft ;), you east-coast $troke :) GUE is full of weenie, skills-practicing in 20ft, redneck gap-toothed quarry divers........<ducks and runs :)> Uhmmm, I too have seen many a seasoned 'veteran' fail a...

what's up with this dir stuff.

I guess Dan, it's just that us dummies and newbies have thought it out, and after going through the same training that JJ did 20-25 years ago figured out we agreed with him. The more things change...........so the saying goes. We're all keenly aware the origin of the frog kick, and JJ banging...

Major Industry Change re: Online Scuba Sales....

too funny, NetDoc................hmmmm who else saw that it is really NetDoc's fault :D The best was Murrayp4's comment. LOL. Almost sent the poor guy packing after only a week here!

Major Industry Change re: Online Scuba Sales....

    ?? haven't been paying attention really....but no doubt it's mostly my fault. Uhm,...sorry :rofl3:

Why leave your gauges and octopus dangling?

:rofl3: Well, it would help a lot of these 'danglers'. It's one thing to state dangly things are bad form, but another to enforce it from the get-go with students to start them out and do it right.

Suunto And Bare: A Major Disappointment

hmmm, very interesting..... Things did seem to be a little funny now didn't it. No matter, we had a guy our way come on here stating he was a trimix instructor till we sorted his OW arse out :) takes all kinds i guess :)

Suunto And Bare: A Major Disappointment

Actually he said..... If anyone, pro or not with 19 years of diving under their belt told me they were doing an emergency deco stop cause their computer died on an NDL dive........ well..........nuff said about any percieved experience here.

Suunto And Bare: A Major Disappointment

Drop to the bottom, perform a fin pivot to ensure nuetral buoyancy, perform hover to double ensure, perform CESA to 15ft, stop, do 3hrs of deco or until no remaining gas, get on boat with an ear to ear grin knowing you did good. Monitor for signs and symptoms of stupidity and stay out of the...

Suunto And Bare: A Major Disappointment

That's the way Padi teaches it more or less (RDP procedure for lost computer), because no-one it is assumed has a brain, which is generally a good call.

    80% or O2 DECO

So you know you need the information most but because he hurt your feelings you won't listen?......... lol. OK. It's your choice, and certainly a logical one :D

    PADI Cert Cards

The difference might just be on-line PIC filing vs mail-in. Pretty easy to e-file the picture format sent in via on-line filing......less so by 'hard-copy'.

    80% or O2 DECO

The first page on air or EAN32 to 100ft is jibberish, but the 150ft 21/35 stuff and beyond seemed as straight forward to me as it could get, but I do admit to putting on the X-shorts and tin-foil hat prior to reading it. I originally learned deco-on-the-fly from the man himself, and I liked it...

    80% or O2 DECO

Anyone willing to actually read AG's 4-5pg PDF should be able to figure it out quite easily. I'm positive there's no brain surgeons on our team.

Tin-foil hats,...........they are the answer to this problem.

    Something odd with PADI

I routinely and intentionally change the spelling of my name, add or remove a 'fake' middle name etc on a lot of things like this. I watch the trail made by this new 'name' to catch who's doing what behind our backs. Just got off the phone with Wells-Fargo wanting to give me a whole pile of...

    PADI a pain?!?

So you'd rather we not tell you what we ourselves have experienced and let a load of misinformation wash all over you? I don't think that would be fair to you. We speak on topics that interest us for whatever reason it may be. I'm sure if you kick around other areas on the board you will find...
