    Another New Diver

Does Florida ever get cold? As in below say 65 degrees ( I know some of you polar bears dont think cold till 35 degrees)? How do you fail an OW class with a private instructor (no im not being an ***, im curious as to how you can fail as opposed to just doing it till you get it right)? Good...

    Online instruction?

Im curious about the statements regarding the E-course and the classroom. With either, the video is required to be shown? (Which frankly irritated the hell out of me since I got the DVD and watched it prior to each chapter as directed, then had to watch it again in class). The exact same video...

    Online instruction?

I agree time constraints can be an issue for classroom. I dont agree with college course comparison, english in not an extreme sport. I agree mileage may vary depending on the individual. People who dont know what they should know are seldom equiped to ask the correct questions and the risk...

    Fisheye Scuba

:11doh: two Jims :D. Sorry for the mix up. Planning on starting my Rescue within a month myself. With that review, I will definately be asking Tom (I dont wanna suffer :D), just kidding. Its important to me, especially in Rescue, to have no shortcutts taken, somebody in my family may need...

    Wetsuit fitting?

The liner in reference to rental gear refers to a couple things, first some shops may not clear rental gear very well and the liners can help with rashes caused both by suits that havent been cleaned and suits that havent been rinsed :D, second poor fitting suits and rental suits wearability...

    Wetsuit fitting?

A liner could help, by liner I mean a lycra like one piece garmet. Has loops for feet and one finger each hand to hold it in place as you pull on your wetsuit. Wet or dry you will pull on the wetsuit twice as easy with this on. You can usually find them hanging right next to where the...

What do you love about diving?

The peace, the sense of being very small, the closeness to my wife (we dive holding hands, makes communication immediate and sharing easy). Still feel very much like an explorer even on very populated sites.

    Diving using Nitrox?

Its strange you would say you disprove of my statement regarding Lees math skills but ignore the fact she called me a troll and then you lecture me on common courtesy as you infer that my avatar or slogan makes it okay to call me a troll.... She made the statement that she had a much better...

    Fisheye Scuba

Sorry I missed it Jim. Saw the note on Dolphin Divers Club they seem to have been around quite awhile but the website is a bit behind, most information is over 6 months old. Will have to look into it anyway (probably having to much fun to bother with the site except on special occassions :D )...

    Diving using Nitrox?

First off, I dont enjoy being referred to as a Troll because I have a differing opinion of the value of Nitrox. I will assume I am not being baited for fun by those posting. Halemano, DAN has the information you require as well as the slight increase of risk for DCI (granted it is assumed...

    Yo-Yo - Too deep of a breath?

For me yo-yo was directly related to, too much weight. If your overweight and you have alot of air in your BC (Frankly at 20' you shouldn't have much) you will have large swings up and down while breathing. Try dumping some weight. Remember that in order to descend at the surface you may need...

    Online instruction?

Ask yourself, would you e-learn to: Skydive? Rock Climb? Parasailing? etc.... I just ask because you are going to really NEED the information that is being taught. Student interaction between each other and the instructor is a large part of the classwork for diving. Good luck.

    Diving using Nitrox?

Nemrod the information I provided is not my own and I edited the post early on to provide credit where due. Gas management is not voodoo :D it has a sound purpose and it is likely ignored by a large portion of the diving community because of the rule of thirds and other shortcutt (simplified...

    Fisheye Scuba

LOL, yea my wife and I stumbled upon them when we were first looking for Fisheye. Met up with a nice diver in the parking lot, but shop was closed. Seems its sort of a quasi hobby for the owner so your kind of hit and miss. Never met owner and shop was locked. Wife and I got most all of...

Tahoe a nice place in October =)

Crawdads are EVERYWHERE, and they constantly want to fight :D. Viz really is just amazingly clear. Theres rock fields scattered to the NE of entry but the whole area is very shallow. Not much in the way of fish. Looks like maybee 200+ yards to get to 30' and area where it begins to descend...

    Conditions for weekend of 27th

Anybody have an average on when Viz gets back to normal after a bad weekend in Monterey (similar to last weekend) or do to many factors come into play for a ballpark estimate? I second that, its too far to drive to sightsee statement :D
