Hi Bob,
Yes I was there Saturday. We spent about 3 hours in the water :D. I can't take credit for all the work though. The guy who's putting it all together is an instructor and owner of a local dive shop. He's name is Mike Edmonston and he spends a lot of time in Lake Denton. If anyone needs...
Some more cool things to come in the near future ;)
There's a new nav course starting at the end of the line that runs SE from the four-way. It will be sign-posted soon, but for now do a 100' square starting at the end of said line and do your first leg due East or South. The corners are...
Great choice on the tank, you're going to like it. :D
You definitely don't need a $900 computer. Get this,
Tabata USA, Inc. : IQ-700 DC HUNTER [IQ-700] - $0.00
and this,

It might not look like...
Can't explain the problem but just for the record, I carry a 50# bag and a smb each in its own pouch below my TransPac and never had an issue. It actually takes a good yank to get the bag out of there!

Not sure if you have a problem or not, but here's what mine does...
If I set either mix to 21% it stays that way until I change it. If I set either to anything else it defaults at midnight unless I'm under water. It defaults to 99% PO2 and 79% PN2 which I guess is the worst stuff they thought...
Hi Tobin,
Met you at DEMA and can't wait to "need" one of your rigs (soon as I start diving doubles).
I don't know how accurate but this might help with the Fabers.

That is a good choice diverDano. The reason I didn't understand was that the same physical size tanks (same tank for that matter) would contain ~23 cf of gas @ 3442 psig if it had 19.9 cf @ 3000 psig. The X5-40 is actually a little bit fatter than an AL40 (quite a bit shorter though)and more...
Hi Pirate Dave & welcome,
I'll add my 1.7 cu. ft. here even though I'm still new at this also.
I don't think (hope?) that anyone would consider diving a Spare Air to 130 fsw as a redundant source but what if you are planning on flying to the Keys to tool around a 30 ft. reef using rental...
I can not explain why this reg is in the Saltwater edition of the regs when it pertains to freshwater but read it here
Spearing
I haven't tried my luck yet, but if you do please let us know the outcome. I would not mind collecting a few tilapia for dinner :D.
They're not even a native...
I agree with the posters who recommends freediving. I have a 10 yr old that is certified and his sole reason for diving at this point is to spearfish. He is only allowed to spear while freediving though. It gives a great incentive to practice his scuba skills. You can see him with his first fish...
I started diving with a NiTek Duo (~$350) and it is a solid computer with its best features being easy to use, large digits, deco gas ability and average depth.
I just bought my son a Veo 180 and at half the price it does it all except the 2 gasses (not sure on average depth). I can not see...
This works for me on those warm water (all of them ;)) dives with my better half.
I use Rg2500 regs but same 40" hose under arm w/ 90 deg fitting. I also use combo octo/inflator (wish I knew where to find shorter than 27" hose for this :() and route the spg under left arm and over to right...
I'll give my 2 psi. I'm very new myself, so take it for what it's worth. Me and my wife actually waited to start our training after my son turned ten years of age thinking it would be a great family thing to learn together. If I had to do it over I would have been diving for years before my son...
Thanks Chad,
I'm brand new to it as well. That was his first fish, although he poked three holes in it to get it done;) It was holed up after the shaft pulled out the first time so I made him go and get it. I'm glad it was less than 10' deep. He's hooked for life :D

Contact Bill Jacksons http://www.billjacksons.com/
I just bought 2 Aqualung Wave Juniors from them for $149.00 a piece. They had maybe 6 or 8 left on sale.
