    Aussie diving December 2012

sorry guys, I'm in the dark as far as local night diving goes, the shore diving spots are at least an hour or so south, not really practical for after work. Scubaworld runs occasional night dives to the ex-HMAS Brisbane but sharks are very rare on the wreck. Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

    Brisbane Dive Operators

This was our exact experience a couple of years ago, except we were the inexperienced divers then. The shop gave us one impression of how the day would be run, then things changed for the worse when we got on board. Disappointing to hear things haven't changed... I'd love to know the details of...

    shoulder surgery and recovery

@ scotthowes-That sounds rough. I've had scar tissue freezing up a past surgical repair as well, the pysio helped and it ended well. Good luck with your shoulder. @ oldschoolto- yeah I've learned to do exactly what they tell me. I really don't want to risk the repair. By coincidence my neighbor...

Byron you put up a lot of amazing shots but that photo must be one of the most striking images I have ever seen. Absolutely incredible. Congratulations.

    shoulder surgery and recovery

Thanks for the insights, it certainly seems like an easy joint to damage. As an update, I'm out of the sling after 6 weeks and have started pysio. So far it's just trying to get some movement back but it feels good. I should be able to drive a car in 4 weeks. Provided I can get into my wetsuit...

    Aussie Diving November 2012

Nice video mate, it was great diving with you guys the other week. I realize this is aimed at others but for me using my torch got me focusing better and looking in cracks and holes etc. also going slowly and searching a small area thoroughly helped. Cooly dive at cook island are happy for...

Thinking about starting my own mini salvage business, input?

Nick you seem like a motivated kind of guy, why not approach your local dive shop and try and work something out with them? Clean the shop in the afternoons in exchange for free dives? If you approach the owner saying you love diving and are willing to work, I'd be very surprised if you...

Please help me~~ rotating upside down under water; Might Apollo Bio Fins help?

What happens if you don't make it back to the down line? Or you get separated on the drift dive? To the op, my old bc had a range of adjustments that weren't immediately obvious, maybe see if you can set it lower on your body? Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

    cozumel accident 9/4/11, THE FACTS

I realize this is an old thread, and forgive me if it has been covered in the other thread, but does anyone know why none of the three divers planning the deep dive told the captain what they intended to do? It seems like a pretty big thing to neglect to mention, and I can't see any reason...

    Suggestions for Brisbane Please?

As damon mentioned, Go dive is a great shop to dive with. If they're full you could also try Cooly dive out to cook island. Perhaps not as nice as the other spots mentioned but still a great back up plan. If you're in springwood you're already half way there! Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

    Aussie diving - August 2012

Mate that's a great video. I think you guys got the pick of the days. We didn't see any rays on the Saturday, which was a surprise for Byron. How'd you go with the water temps? Sent from my iPhone using Forum Runner

    Aussie diving - August 2012

I had a couple of dives with Sundive on Saturday. It was a bit windy and cold making a pretty miserable trip out to the rock but once in the water everything got better. 8m vis and around 20 grey nurse sharks down in the wide trenches. Plenty of very pregnant females and sadly a couple with...

    Wrecks Diving In Australia

We did a tour with gurrubi tours, they run out of cooktown and it was excellent. Willy is the guy who runs it and he was a wealth of information and experience. If you're in cooktown and have a four wheel drive, there is a pub called the lions Den (I think) that is supposed to be really good...

Edd Sorenson saves ow diver in a cave

This is an incredible story and great job to those that saved the divers life. Would it be worth stressing that it is not always the very inexperienced that perish? I recall a number of signs when hiking in the Grand Canyon that warned people off trying to hike all the way down and back in one...
