    Daintree After Diving?

I don't know about TUSA but your trip to the daintree/cape trib will be fine. It's a great area up there. Try and get on one of the river tours at the crossing to see crocs in the wild.

Hi Dave, Welcome to scubaboard and good luck with you business. The website looks really good. Mike and I often dive together so we'll make a plan next time we're down that way. Ferris

    Sharkskin lost at Byron Bay

I'm posting this in the hope that whoever picked up my long sleeve shark skin top from Sundive at Byron Bay on Sunday 14th is looking to return it. The optimist in me is thinking it was grabbed by mistake and will make it's way home.

Crazy, Scary, Funny, or all of the above?

It would have been nice if someone checked if Waseem was still breathing after his little adventure. The poor guy was more than half dead and they just ignore him completely?? I think scariest of all is the divers opinion that no text book could have prepared them to deal with that dive. Like...

    Reflective Tape on a Hood

Thanks guys, Is there a problem with the SOLAS tape getting water inside it's cells once it has been cut or stitched?

    Reflective Tape on a Hood

I am in the process of getting a custom hooded vest made and want to add some reflective tape to the top of the hood. The guy making the vest hasn't used any reflective material before and isn't sure what will be best. Does anyone here have any suggestions? One issue that he did mention is that...

    DIR vs Hogarthian

What reason could you have for advising a new diver against further training? It is his money to spend, and he won't be instructing or guiding others. Is it so bad to learn the correct way of doing things before you spend 200 dives practising? (I'm talking about training in general, not just DIR)

What would you do: Molested at 100' by an OOA Diver

I think I remember reading a recount of this event as well. What ended up happening to the two instructors that were OOA? Scary stuff.

What would you do: Molested at 100' by an OOA Diver

Can you elaborate on this? Did you end up on your octo while two DSD buddy breathed your primary donated reg? All while the leader of the DSD divers watched and did nothing? Or we're these two OOA at different times? In which case I assume the DSD leader took the first client that went OOA off...

What would you do: Molested at 100' by an OOA Diver

Can you explain it to us? 1/3 in. 1/3 out. 1/3 reserve...What's not to 'get'? The rule of thirds might work for tech or penetration dives, but isn't it excessively conservative for most rec dives (like the one DaleC describes?)

    Murphy's Law

A lot of this post seems very strange, and I can't imagine a scenario where the crew would ever refuse permission for a diver in the water to re board the boat. Perhaps if the had a major medical emergency on board and needed the space?

Washing wetsuit in washing machine - top result - bad for the washing machine?

I wash mine on a delicate cycle in the front loader, but I always give it a pretty thorough rinse before it goes in. By the time it's done I figure it has had plenty of fresh water flushed through the machine.

    No fin fight, OK?

I started with Mares Avanti Quattros, and they are good fins, but I got a cheap deal on some OMS Slipstreams and have been happy with them. I know what you mean about 'plywood' fins but you do get used to them quickly, and now I really like that feeling. The quattros might be a good...
