Your posts are awesome - we're bring down some old Cab's for our 30th - we'll drink plenty of water before bedtime - remember I'll be studying a lot for the exam therefore consumption will be limited. Gary D. - meet us there and we'll give you a glass of a rare old 1978 Joseph Phelps Insignia...
I'm taking the padi certification at Ambergris Caye in Nov. I've ready through the book along with the DVD. If we have 1-2 glasses of Vino early aroung 5:30 - does this pose a problem when you go for your first ocean dive? I'm a beginner so info is important. Book says not much - is one glass okay?
I've decided to go ahead since I'll have a totally private one on one training at the Caye. Hubby will stand by me - whew! He'll snorkel from the boat while I dive. I'm going ahead with the padi course. Againk thanks for all of your support and wishes.
Joe,
We're in modular two (padi) - although some of the questions are easy and common sense, some of it is physics- ouch! we're not physics majors - the bars throw me off! Certainly is a lot of info to learn - ouch!
After what appears to be ripped off by several bay area dive shops esp. on goggles, we found the last honest dive shop in Berkleey - The Original Steele's which has affordable prices, honest knowledge esp. on goggles. We were sold goggles from a San Bruno store from a guy who says these could be...
Thanks Ken - hubby will definitely carry medicine plus the dive boat (we're going private with this wonderful couple) her hubby has the same problem and he's now a master dive instructor. He's doing much better in swimming that a week ago. I appreciate your thoughts & concerns. If the Dr...
Thank you for youor info; I wasn't too pleased with the post above. I replied to his post. Hubby sees Dr. Monday - swimming/floating lessons are at work - in fact he floated for 11 min. He has what the swim instructor calls musclar legs therefore he's not able to float like myself. It's too bad...
Thank you for your post - I nearly quit the board with the insult above. Obviously, I was curious if other divers had this medical problem along with being able to dive. I have missed a few comments - saw this one today.
Is the tea a prescription? He sees the Dr. next. Mon. He uses the sprays, etc., forget his meds yesterday - slows him down quite a lot. Enrolled him in swim lessons (for treading water) along with swim pointers.
Thanks for your advice - these are swim fins - will buy scuba fins after certification or perhaps before. We will definitely have boots. If your're from the Sacramento area, do you know Jorg Dutschke from Tahoe Citiy? He's a ski instructor, Alpine also dives with Pacfic Offshore Dives along...
I started with open toe fins along with the back having a strap. I must have poor feet for the bone (top of big toes) swells causing them to puff up. I have inserts (liners) any suggestions to prevent these? I just started to wear them this week.
Thank you for the good wishes. Hubby has completed 30 laps with fines & snoerkel however we have to figure out a way to get him to float - he sinks. (laugh).
Any suggestions?
