What's good for the goose is good for the gander dude. You said you knew about skeletons about a particular trip from another diver. I would really find it helpful to hear about these bones.

I'll bite. I'm thinking about using Aldora on an upcoming trip. What are the skeletons? As a couple of folks mentioned earlier when something was brought up about Scuba Mau, it's not right to complain about an op without detailing the basis of the complaint.

There's nothing like getting and servicing good gear cheap -- and then spending the savings on more dive trips.

You spoke, I listened, ST profited. Just sent my regs to ST. I called my LDS first to see how much more it would be to have the work done locally. They said they don't service my brands and would have to send the regs someplace else for service (ST?). That made the decision easy. :angel2:

Thank you everybody for the quick and helpful responses! If others have thoughts on the subject, please keep them coming. Bubbletrouble, I would ultimately like to service my own regs, especially if I'm satisfied and stay with the Calypso, given its simple design.

After years of renting, I recently bought gear, including a used Aqualung Calypso regulator and LPO octo. I bought the Calypso in part because it is reputed to be durable and simple to service, but of course as used gear it now needs service. I see that Scubatoys, a company I've done business...

On these recent days when the port has been closed, has it been closed to all boats, or just the sub-40 footers?

It would be interesting to know how many of these divers were diving without a DM. OW certification allows you to just go out and dive with anybody else who's certified. If both divers are new, you've potentially got the blind leading the blind with no sighted aide (the DM) around.

I started reading this thread at the beginning, eventually realizing that it started in 2005 and is 106 pages long. A lot of regrets on Scuba Board! :D
