One does not fly anywhere from where we live, unless it's in a Medivac.

Yup. Last time they just had a clipboard listing everyone on the incoming flight. Theyd check you off, and get you to the shuttle. They have less paperwork to handle that way, while greeting arrivals.

An alternative I have seen used on Bonaire when a diver only owns closed heel fins is to wear good sandals for the Entry and Exits. The sandals can be stowed on or in your rig while diving.

Actual packing will probably be completed at @ this time, one week from now. Our adventures tend to start @24 hours ahead of others, as its @3 hours of driving from here to any place really nice, or that you can fly to direct.

I actually did a bit of that "packing" thing today, myself. Checked and charged several batteries, double checked my own folding walking stick for the entries/exits, checked meds, updated and printed logbook pages, and generally began to think about packing a bit more seriously.

I love entering the water long before other divers, in full dark, and then watching the reef "awake" for the day as the sun rises. It's fun seeing the look of surprise on the faces of early divers, as I exit at the time they assume they are the first divers of the day!;)

More Solo dives More Dawn Solo dives Heck, probably almost as many dives, period, on Bonaire as total elswehere. Solo diving on Bonaire

14 years straight, until Covid. We sold our place there during the shutdown. The coming SB Bonaire Invasion in @25 days will be our first return in roughly 3 years now. We miss Bonaire, and the freedom that Bonaire shore diving represents.

Eh, that whole diving thing will never catch on anyway. I saw the TV show. Too many knife fights and slashed hoses. That other guy in the red barret had a show on the tube too, but he was just chasing fish around, what fun is that?! :gas: :beerchug:
